AOC Now Wants to Cancel the Largest Hispanic Food Brand in U.S. Because CEO Was Nice to Trump

By any measure you want to use, the Goya Foods brand, which specializes in catering to Hispanics, is wildly successful.
After being founded first as a small store in 1936 in Manhattan by Spanish immigrants Prudencio Unanue Ortiz and wife Carolina, the company has grown into an international brand with 26 facilities across the U.S., Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Spain, employing thousands of people.
The company, Forbes notes, is worth $1.1 billion.
And today it is run by Prudencio and Caroline’s grandson, Robert Unanue. The company has done nothing but flourish under his leadership.
And now, an angry little Marxist who has never built anything but a Twitter following wants to burn it all down – because that’s what Marxists like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez do.
On Thursday, Unanue appeared at a White House event where he praised President Donald Trump for signing an executive order aimed at helping Hispanics more easily achieve the American dream.
“We are all truly blessed, at the same time, to have a leader like President Trump who is a builder. And that’s what my grandfather did. He came to this country to build, to grow, to prosper,” he said during a short speech in which he also praised the Trump administration’s overall efforts to help Hispanics and other persons of color.
"And so we have an incredible builder and we pray,” he added. “We pray for our leadership, our president, and we pray for our country that we will continue to prosper and to grow.”
It should be noted that Unanue also assisted former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama with their Hispanic outreach programs.
But because the Goya CEO praised Trump – and because the Marxist American Left has convinced themselves that he’s a racist/bigot/homophobe, along comes AOC with her narrow-minded worldview to help those like her destroy a man whose immigrant family literally built an American dream.
"Oh look, it’s the sound of me Googling ‘how to make your own Adobo,’” she cracked on Twitter, completely and utterly tone-deaf to the fact that she’s attacking a company that built its brand and reputation on catering to persons of color…like her.
Unanue’s praise for the president was certainly not lost on the sane.
Writing at American Thinker, Monica Showalter observed:
In an era when corporate America has skidded into a sort of lockstep "wokeness" with huge amounts of money being thrown around to Black Lives Matter activist groups as a sort of appeasement payoff to keep from becoming a target, here's the CEO from a Spanish immigrant family, stating the obvious about President Trump and doing it while the whole left-wing world was watching. It was, for us normals, at least, an act of unprecedented corporate courage.
True enough. That AOC never misses an opportunity to work against the best interests of ‘her people’ and those of her district.
Because outside the confines of her small, hateful mind, the reality is not everyone shares her opinions.
