Bernie Yanks Endorsement Of Young Turks Founder Cenk Uygur's Congressional Bid

Bernie Sanders has been forced to rescind his endorsement of Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks on Friday after sexist comments by the liberal talk show host were unearthed.

With the Democrat establishment having failed to torpedo Bernie's run for the nomination - at least at this early stage - as it did in 2016, the avowed socialist remains as a potential kingmaker for those aspiring to win congressional seats.

The 49-year-old  Uygur who is an unapologetic conspiracy theorist and who wears his hatred of President Trump on his sleeve is running for the open seat vacated after Katie Hill's career imploded due to a lurid sex scandal.

Earlier in the week, the braying old crank from Vermont sang the praises of Mr. Uygur:

"I’m endorsing Cenk because I know he will serve ordinary people, not powerful special interests. He is a voice that we desperately need in Congress and will be a great representative for CA-25 and the country"

But no sooner had Bernie bestowed his blessing on the candidate, the left's cancel culture once again took out one of their own when Uygur's past comments denigrating women along with a bizarre endorsement of bestiality led to the presidential hopeful's flip-flop.

Via The Hill, "Sanders revokes congressional endorsement for Young Turks founder Cenk Uygur":

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is revoking his congressional endorsement for Young Turks founder Cenk Uygur to fill the House seat vacated by former Rep. Katie Hill (D-Calif.) as the media personality continues to come under fire for comments he’s made about women.

“As I said yesterday, Cenk has been a longtime fighter against the corrupt forces in our politics and he’s inspired people all across the country,” Sanders, a top-tier candidate in the Democratic 2020 presidential primary, said in a statement. “However, our movement is bigger than any one person.”

"I hear my grassroots supporters who were frustrated and understand their concerns. Cenk today said he is rejecting all endorsements for his campaign, and I retract my endorsement,” he added before tweeting out a similar statement.

Feel the Bern?

Sanders had no choice than to immediately cave or risk facing the wrath of feminists who could be lost to Elizabeth Warren and her socialist-lite policy prescriptions that while still ruinous to America, fall short of the full-scale revolution that Bernie is calling for.

In addition to his sexually crude comments about women - which he has quite a history of - Uygur's 2013 quips about legalizing one of the planet's worst forms of perversion also contributed to killing deal.

According to Cenk:

“I believe that if I were the benevolent dictator of the world, I would legalize bestiality where you are giving, you are pleasuring the animal.”

While the comments were most certainly made in jest, there is a vast repository of vulgarity, bigotry and sexism out there from a guy who has plied his trade as an outrage merchant for years.

Like any card-carrying liberal, Uygur immediately resorted to playing the victim card by suggesting that he is the target of a vast conspiracy against him.

As a co-founder of the extreme left Justice Democrats PAC that produced socialist sensation Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and other less telegenic radicals in the vaunted Dem freshman class of 2018, Uygur has now emerged from the shadows to grab his own seat at the table.

But he won't have Bernie's help after he cut and ran at the first sign of trouble.
