Biden-Linked Burisma Consultant Approached State Dept Over “Troubling Events” In Ukraine

Newly released emails from the State Department reveal that Sally Painter, a consultant for Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings, reached out to Deputy Secretary of State Tony Blinken to discuss “troubling events” regarding Ukraine at a liberal think tank in 2016.
This Democratic consultant was working at Blue Star Strategies, before reportedly being connected with Burisma through Hunter Biden in order to eliminate investigations of corruption into the energy company. Both Hunter Biden and Sally Painter also worked together on the board of directors of the Truman National Security Project.
Three days after Painter approached Deputy Secretary of State Tony Blinken at the think tank, Painter emailed Tony Blinken’s top aide, William Russo, in an attempt to get the State Department’s Official to meet with her and her associate, Karen Tramontano. Tony Blinken now works as a senior campaign advisor on Joe Biden’s presidential campaign, along with his former aide Russo, who works as the director of communications.
In the emails released by the State Department, Burisma consultant Sally Painter illustrates new attempts to connect with State Department officials that were previously unknown to the public.
From the Daily Caller:
“Per my conversation with Tony at the Truman event, Karen Tramontano and I would like to have a brief coffee with Tony at his earliest convenience regarding some troubling events we are seeing n [sic] Ukraine,” Painter wrote in a June 27, 2016 email to Russo, who serves as director of communications for the Joe Biden presidential campaign.
“(He said yes),” Painter said in her email to Russo of Blinken, who serves as foreign policy advisor to Biden’s campaign.
“We are just back from Kiev,” Painter added.
It is unclear whether or not the State Department Official discussed issues regarding Burisma in the meeting with the consultant, due to the fact that the two do not mention it by name in the emails.
Additionally, emails have revealed that Hunter Biden also tried to connect with the State Department.
“I know you are impossibly busy, but would like to get your advice on a couple of things,” Hunter Biden said to Tony Blinken in an email on May 22, 2015.
Blinken replied, saying he would “absolutely” be willing to meet.
John Solomon later revealed State Department records that show the two met on May 27, 2015 and July 22, 2015.
Hunter Biden joined the board of the company in 2014, at the same time his father, former Vice President Joe Biden was working with issues in Ukraine for the Obama administration. Hunter Biden was being paid upwards of $80,000 a month on the board of directors with no qualifications, and speculation of corruption against the family grew after Joe Biden bragged about withholding $1 billion to Ukraine in order to get a prosecutor looking into the company fired.
