Biden Makes Incoherent Statement on Coronavirus During Interview, Media Lets it Slide

Former Vice President and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has been practicing being the shadow president as the real president, Donald Trump, fights the coronavirus.

During an interview on Tuesday, Biden was asked about a comment President Trump made on how the "cure" to the coronavirus could actually be worse than the virus itself. The cure being mandatory lockdowns.

During the interview on ABC's "The View," journalist Sara Haines asked Biden, “Are you at all concerned, as [President Donald] Trump said, that we cannot let the cure be worse than the problem itself?”

Biden's response made no sense. Try your best to comprehend it.

“We have to take care of the cure. That will make the problem worse no matter what. No matter what,” Biden responded. “We know what has to be done … We’ve got to flatten that curve and we’ve got to make sure that once, in fact, we have this under control, it doesn’t come back.”

Biden went on to repeat obvious solutions stating that first responders need more "gear" and hospitals need "extra beds." He then bizarrely said that materials were lacking in rural areas as he incoherently said, “I have a map here — I won’t show you, you can’t see it,” he said.

“We have to get help there,” Biden said. “We should be focusing on surging data, surging equipment, surging testing, surging all this information and all this capability around the country. That’s the first and foremost thing we should be doing instead of waiting around.”

The Daily Caller reports:

In a fireside chat from his home in Delaware Biden made a number of verbal missteps as he attempted to address the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Biden has largely disappeared from the campaign trail over the past several days, his speeches to supporters have also become shorter.

Biden is probably the last person who should be giving advice on how to combat the coronavirus considering he still thinks that banning travel from countries with the coronavirus is "racist."

During a radio interview on Tuesday, Dr. Anthony Fauci hammered the media as well as Biden.

The Daily Wire summarizes:

Fauci lauded President Trump for the speed with which he implemented a travel ban from China and then Europe, an action which many on the Left criticized. The very day that Trump issued his travel ban on people coming from China, former Vice President Joe Biden attacked Trump at a campaign rally, saying, ““In moments like this, this is where the credibility of a president is most needed, as he explains what we should and should not do. This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria and xenophobia, hysterical xenophobia, to uh, and fear mongering,”

After Trump implemented the travel ban from Europe, Biden tweeted, “A wall will not stop the coronavirus. Banning all travel from Europe — or any other part of the world — will not stop it.”

While Biden insists that temporarily banning travel from coronavirus infested countries is racist, Fauci, a real doctor, praised President Trump for his swift actions:

It is extremely important to look at and take into very serious consideration what goes on in other countries. Every country is a bit different in some way, but we learn a lot. We learn a lot from China and we’re learning a lot from Italy. Italy has a very good health care system; Italy has a lot of very good people who are on this and they’re going through a very difficult time, so that’s one of the things that’s very concerning.

I believe Italy got into this much trouble for a number of reasons which hopefully we have avoided, namely the influx of cases from China were not shut off immediately in Italy and one of the important things that we did was the president’s decision to very early on, stop the influx, first from China, and now from Europe, particularly the countries Italy, France and others, the entire European Union. Because one of the things that feeds the country is when you have influx of cases from outside. Once they’re here, then it’s up to us to mitigate the spread throughout the country.
