Despite basing his campaign on the premise that he was better suited to handle the coronavirus crisis than now-former President Donald J. Trump, Joe Biden has been missing in action during the weekly COVID calls with the nation’s governors.
Neither Biden nor president-in-waiting Kamala Harris has bothered to show up for the regularly scheduled calls, a stunning detail revealed by Real Clear Politics but not nearly as stunning as who has been chosen by the administration to lead the calls.
None other than Andrew Cuomo, the scandal-plagued New York governor is running the show despite his disgraceful conduct toward women that has been graphically detailed by multiple former aides who accused the Albany strongman of making inappropriate sexual overtures to them.
There is also the matter of Cuomo’s disastrous handling of COVID including his ordering of infected patients into the state’s nursing homes where they spread the virus to the residents, resulting in over ten thousand deaths among the elderly.
Not only did Cuomo effectively issue death sentences to New York’s most vulnerable population but he also covered it up for purely political reasons.

According to RCP; “President Biden hasn’t been on any of them,” said Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts “and Vice President Harris has only been on one, but that was for about five minutes and she didn’t take any questions.”
Governor Ricketts added; “the hard work that all the other officials who are on the phone are doing,” it’s not the same, he explained, as having “high-level access to the decision-makers who can move the bureaucracy,” according to RCP.
“It really is not the type of bipartisan partnership that the president promised when he came into office in his inaugural address. It really is much more of a top-down, we-are-going-to-do-what-we-are-going-to-do thought process,” he said.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was put on the spot by reporter Philip Wegmann of Real Clear Politics regarding frustration by other governors over Biden and Harris’s absence from the calls during Monday’s presser.
"We have never conveyed it as a call that would be part of his agenda, so I'm not sure there's a big controversy here." pic.twitter.com/k1DzmV7GMm

Rather than acknowledge that the absences and Cuomo’s presence were a reason for legitimate concern, Psaki instead focused on attacking the story by seeking to spin it as partisan griping from a few Republicans.
Wegmann: “I’ve heard from a number of governors who are frustrated that they haven’t heard directly from President Biden on these weekly coordinating COVID calls. Why hasn’t he joined those weekly calls?”
Psaki: “How many governors have you heard from?”
Wegmann: “I’ve heard from a number, but how many times…”
Psaki: “Like, how many? One, two?”
Wegmann: “Well, I’m actually curious to see how many times he’s joined those calls, and if there’s a reason why…”
Psaki: “It was never his int… but, I’m curious the answer to your question, too.”
Wegmann: “It’s in our story”
Psaki: “I think there were two in your story.”
Wegmann: “There are two in my story, and there are others who didn’t go on the record, but we reflected that in the story.”
Psaki: “OK, so, two governors and some anonymous governors. I will say that the intention was never for the weekly call, the COVID call that is led by our COVID coordinator, to be a part, for the President to be leading that call. The intention was for our COVID coordinator to be providing an update directly from the president, directly from our work across the federal government to get the pandemic under control.”
She continued, “And what we’ve done on that call is provided weekly updates on the number of doses that are going out to states, which have increased nearly every week, we’re talking about an average of about 28 million out to states now, it’s an opportunity to engage and have a discussion about where there are challenges in the system, how to better operationalize, better communicate, which was a complaint that we came in and tried to solve when we came into office. So that was the intention. I can assure you that the American public, governors hear quite a great deal from the president on his plans to get the pandemic under control, and it’s in excellent hands with his COVID coordinator.” Said Psaki.
Wegmann: “To clarify: he has not joined. Does he have any plans in the future to join those calls?”
Psaki: “We’ve never conveyed it as a call that would be a part of his agenda, so I’m not sure there’s, like, a big controversy here.”
Cuomo who is the current chairman of the National Governors Association despite his mounting political troubles has been designated as the regime’s go-to-guy when it comes to the states.
This allows Biden to save his energy for pushing to vaccinate the entire nation in the next several months by threatening to cancel the Fourth Of July while engaging in near-daily virtue-signaling about face masks; neither of which can be even loosely described as the sort of leadership that he promised.
It also sends a message that the conduct of alleged sexual predators like Cuomo will never be punished as long as the accused is a member of the blue team.
