The incoming border patrol chief, Raul Ortiz, is sounding the alarm about the Joe Biden border crisis.
During a press event, Ortiz said that “300 to 400 Border Patrol agents” are out from a work every single day because they have been forced to quarantine.
“What we’re experiencing now with unaccompanied children, family units, migrants from countries that we traditionally don’t experience these tremendous flows from or what our Border Patrol agents are faced with every day, and then you compound that with this Covid threat,” Ortiz said.
“At any given day, I may have between 300 and 400 Border Patrol agents that are in a quarantine status and, as you know, I wear this black badge over my — this black band over my badge because we’ve lost eight Border Patrol agents in the line of duty to Covid or other events, and one is too many,” he said.
Ortiz added: “In my thirty years, this is the most complicated situation I have ever experienced.”
Migrant apprehensions at the U.S.-Mexico border are getting worse by the day and even worse month over month.
U.S. Border Patrol agents have reported that agents apprehended nearly 210,000 migrants who illegally crossed the border from Mexico in July.
This represents an increase of 420 percent compared to July 2020.
A leaked presidential briefing document reveals that a whopping 20 percent of unaccompanied migrant children who illegally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border are testing positive for COVID-19 after being released into communities by Border Patrol.
The presidential document was obtained by NBC News, which also states that 18 percent of migrant families are testing positive for the pandemic virus after they are released by Border Patrol officials into border communities.
“Migrants are not tested for Covid in Border Patrol custody unless they show symptoms, but all are tested when they leave Border Patrol custody, according to DHS officials,” NBC reported. “Immigrants who are allowed to stay in the U.S. to claim asylum are given tests when they are transferred to ICE, Health and Human Services or non-governmental organizations.”
“As of Wednesday, more than 15,000 migrants were in Border Patrol custody, according to Customs and Border Protection data obtained by NBC News,” the report added.
“In the last 2-3 weeks, the percent positivity rates among all demographics have increased,” the document says.
Last week, a Fox News reporter revealed that thousands of COVID-positive illegal aliens have been released in McAllen, Texas.

Republican Mayor Javier Villalobos — a Hispanic who represents, McAllen, Texas — is unloading on the Biden administration over its handling of the immigration crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Villalobos revealed he has built an isolation camp to protect his city because of the COVID-19 infection rate among illegals aliens.
“We had to make an emergency decision to put up tents,” Villalobos said.
“We shouldn’t and we cannot let all the immigrants roam around our city, especially with the high COVID rate,” Villalobos said.
“It used to be 4, 5, 6 percent. It’s over, more than, 16 percent positive. We have to protect our citizens,” he added.
