Cali Gov Pardons Felons To Get Around Trump's Immigration Policies

On Monday, far Left California Governor Gavin Newsom pardoned multiple felons and two of these felons are illegal aliens who are supposed to be deported in the near future. This is the latest attempt by the Left to obstruct the Presidents illegal immigration crackdown.

Newsom, who took office in January, has abused his powers to purposely oppose almost everything President Trump says or does. The California governor has made it clear that he cares more about "sticking" it to the President, than he cares about keeping the people of California safe.

The crimes committed by the two illegal alien felons, were serious enough to make them eligible for deportation. Newsom however, is defending his pardons.

"By granting these pardons to people who are transforming their lives," read the statement from Newsom's office, "the Governor is seeking to remove barriers to employment and public service, restore civic rights and responsibilities and prevent unjust collateral consequences of conviction."

Check out what the Blaze reported in relation to the current situation:

Both of the felons who were set for deportation were Cambodian refugees who were brought into the country legally, but committed gang-related crimes later.
The pardons do not protect them from deportation proceedings, but the actions by Newsom will help their arguments in court to fight deportation back to Cambodia.
The governor compared the president to anti-immigrant "demagogues" who passed the federal Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, a law that targeted a community for exclusion from immigration. He made the comments while speaking to the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association ahead of the pardons.

The Asian Law Caucus was very happy about the statement from Newsom and took the opportunity to slam the Trump administration for enforcing the law.

"We are deeply grateful to Governor Newsom for recognizing the plight of refugees who are being targeted by the Trump administration and for acting with compassion and leadership to stop their deportations," said the Executive Director Aarti Kohli.

President Trump has been a strong enforcer of the immigration law here in America but has been met with extreme obstruction and backlash from the Left for wanting to enforce the law. It seems however, that the President's harsh rhetoric on illegal immigration is beginning to set in considering illegal aliens are becoming so tired and worried about being detained by ICE, that they are literally leaving the country.

Check out what the Daily Caller reported:

Illegal immigrants who were granted voluntary departure — also known as “self-deportation” — increased by 50% in 2017, according to information compiled by The Marshall Project. In fiscal year 2018, the number of aliens who asked an immigration court for permission to leave the country on their own accord doubled from the previous fiscal year. Applications in 2018, in fact, reached a seven-year high.

The rising number of self-deportations far outpaces the 17% growth in overall U.S. immigration cases, indicating that a higher percentage of illegal migrants are opting to leave rather than face government-coerced deportation.

There are incentives for illegals who choose to voluntarily leave. Instead of being held in a detention center for an indefinite amount of time or undergo a strenuous courtroom battle, undocumented immigrants can simply return to their home country. Additionally, migrants who don’t have a deportation on their record are not required to wait years to apply for a U.S. visa to re-enter the country.
