Cuomo Lavishes China With Praise For Sending Ventilators, Snubs Trump Despite Huge Stockpile

If anything, the coronavirus pandemic is Americans that there is no emergency too serious to politicize if you’re a Democrat.
And if you can throw a propaganda victory and some love to our biggest global competitor and potential enemy, so much the better.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo heaped praise on the Chinese government after Beijing pledged to ship 1,000 ventilators to ‘help out’ during the coronavirus pandemic.
“We finally got some good news today. The Chinese government helped facilitate a donation of 1,000 ventilators that will arrive in JFK today,” Cuomo tweeted Saturday, in reference to John F. Kennedy International Airport. “I thank the Chinese government, Jack Ma, Joe Tsai, the Jack Ma Foundation, the Tsai Foundation and Consul General Huang.”
This would be the same China that is responsible for the creation of COVID-19 in the first place, and the same Chinese Communist government that both covered up the severity of the outbreak and then lied about where it came from.
Of course, the Chinese offered ventilators as a way of embarrassing the Trump administration, to highlight it’s ‘poor response’ to the outbreak. And of course, Beijing’s leader, Xi Jinping, offered them to a Left-wing hack governor he knew would readily accept them as a mean of deepening the Trump administration’s embarrassment.
But wait — did Cuomo even really need 1,000 Chinese ventilators? No, and that’s according to him.
As documented by RealClearPolitics March 28, Cuomo himself said he has a “stockpile” of ventilators in preparation for the “apex” the outbreak:
The question was for those of you who couldn’t hear it, let me paraphrase it the way I want to paraphrase because I don’t want to answer this question directly. When you’ve been doing what I’ve been doing long enough, you learn and just answered the question you want to answer.
The facts, okay Zack, somebody said on one of the cable news shows the ventilators that New York needed aren’t even being deployed. They’re in a stockpile. Yes, they’re in a stockpile because that’s where the supposed to be because we don’t need them yet. We need them for the apex. The apex isn’t here, so we’re gathering them in the stockpile so when we need them they will be there. We don’t need them today because we’re not at capacity today. That’s why they’re not deployed because they’re not needed.
Mind you, if there are any shortages of capability in New York State, it isn’t the fault of President Donald Trump, or Republicans, or even the Chinese.
It’s Cuomo’s fault, and in fact, even Democratic voters have pointed that out, including hospital employees who have seen capacity drop for years thanks to his policies. Instead of being a hero, he’s a zero to Democrats like Sean Petty and Kelley Cabrera.
“I would call Governor Cuomo probably the single most important person in terms of the drive to close down hospital beds in this state over the last 20 years,” Petty said. “In New York state, we have gone from 73,000 beds to 53,000 beds from the year 2000 to the present time. So, specifically because of policies that Governor Cuomo has pursued, we are now 20,000 beds behind where we need to be in terms of trying to scale up our capacity to these unprecedented levels.”
It’s bad enough that no Democratic leaders in New York are stepping up and taking any responsibility for their actions that have either worsened or prolonged the coronavirus pandemic in the nation’s largest city.
It’s worse when the give aid and comfort — and a propaganda win — to a potential enemy.
