Now that there are only four days to go until Thanksgiving, authoritarian Democrats are moving to impose their severe restrictions on families who want to celebrate the holiday as they always have before this year.
The same states that pounced on the opportunity to implement lockdowns during the first wave of the media-generated coronavirus panic because it would damage the economy in an election year are now cracking down on the cherished tradition.
One of the worst is Oregon’s Governor Kate Brown, a cruel and vicious woman whose latest set of decrees is even harsher than those of Gretchen Whitmer and Andrew Cuomo.
What makes Brown’s anti-Thanksgiving orders worse is that she has threatened to send government goons into the homes of people who disobey her to make arrests, not a thing that one would expect in a free country.
Apparently realizing that there are limitations when it comes to resources – especially when state Democrats are working to defund the police – Governor Brown is now calling for cooperation from Oregonians to snitch out their neighbors to the authorities.
Via Portland NBC affiliate KGW-8 News, “Gov. Brown encourages Oregonians to call police on neighbors who violate COVID-19 freeze”:
Days before Thanksgiving, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown said she believes residents who know their neighbors are violating the most recent round of COVID-19 protocols, which includes capping the number of people allowed in your home at six, should call the police.
“This is no different than what happens if there’s a party down the street and it’s keeping everyone awake,” Brown said in an interview Friday. “What do neighbors do [in that case]? They call law enforcement because it’s too noisy. This is just like that. It’s like a violation of a noise ordinance.”
The restrictions, known as a freeze, were implemented this week via an executive order by the governor. For the next two weeks in Oregon, and four weeks in Multnomah County, residents are banned from eating out at restaurants and going to the gym, among other restrictions. Social gatherings in our homes are also limited to no more than six people. Violators could face up to 30 days in jail, $1,250 in fines or both.
Last week Brown made it clear that disobedience would be met with fines and being tossed in jail.
As coronavirus infections soar across Oregon, Gov. Kate Brown indicated Friday that she intends to take a much harder line to enforce her new “freeze” order that limits the size of social gatherings to no more than six people.
The governor warned that violations are misdemeanors punishable by citation or arrest, and Brown said she would work with state police and local law enforcement to encourage Oregonians to comply with her directive.
“For the last eight months I have been asking Oregonians to follow the letter and the spirit of the law and we have not chosen to engage law enforcement,” Brown said Friday. “At this point in time, unfortunately, we have no other option.”
The governor’s office cited emergency authority granted to her by Oregon law. Violators could face up to 30 days in jail, a fine of up to $1,250, or both.
How twisted are things in Oregon?
The same police who have been ordered to stand down while ANTIFA criminals conducted a months-long assault on a federal courthouse and beat people in the streets will now be given the green light to kick down doors if citizens choose to defy her by celebrating Thanksgiving with their extended families.
It remains to be seen whether the police will comply with Brown’s tyrannical orders but you can be certain that the rats and snitches will be out in full force on turkey day.
