President Trump should now understand that he has been surrounded by enemies when it comes to the Republican party and they now lining up to plant their daggers in his back.
Now that Vice President Pence has rejected Nancy Pelosi’s demand to remove Trump using the 25th Amendment only a week before his historic term ends, it’s full speed ahead on the unprecedented second impeachment.
While the first impeachment went down in flames due to a lack of Republican support in an election year, the idea that the party establishment can forever rid themselves of the interloper Trump and his America First agenda will make this one a bipartisan effort.
The impeachment effort just got the support of a big name in Rep. Liz Cheney who is the third-ranking House Republican and seeks to be a player once the party has divested itself from Trump.
Cheney is the daughter of George W. Bush’s infamous vice president Dick Cheney, a notorious warmonger, enemy of freedom, and a man who is at least partially responsible for the surveillance programs that are now being turned against Trump supporters.
Via The Hill, “Cheney says she’ll vote to impeach Trump”:
House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (Wyo.), the No. 3 Republican in the House, announced Tuesday that she plans to vote to impeach President Trump for inciting a violent mob at the Capitol last week.
Cheney is the first member of House GOP leadership to announce their support for impeachment, breaking with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) on the matter. Cheney told members on a conference call on Monday evening she felt it was a “vote of conscience,” according to one source familiar with her remarks.
“On January 6, 2021 a violent mob attacked the United States Capitol to obstruct the process of our democracy and stop the counting of presidential electoral votes. This insurrection caused injury, death and destruction in the most sacred space in our Republic,” she said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Much more will become clear in coming days and weeks, but what we know now is enough. The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President. The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not. There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution.
“I will vote to impeach the President,” she said.
The polluted swamp has despised President Trump for his commitment to bringing jobs back to America, hardline against its business partners in Bejing and rejection of policies that have flooded the country with illegal immigrants but nothing has infuriated them more than his aversion to war.
Trump’s steadfast refusal to take the bait by committing Americans to die in the costly and unnecessary foreign misadventures that are the swamp’s lifeblood has earned him their enduring wrath and now he must be punished.
It is no coincidence that both Dick Cheney’s and John McCain’s daughters have been in attack mode since last week’s chaos at the Capitol that has been exploited to complete the coup against Trump.
