DNC Comms Director Appears to Suggest Biden May Not Have Party Nomination

Things are getting tough for former Vice President Joe Biden. And according to a top Democratic official, he may not even have the Democratic presidential nominee in the 2020 election.
During an interview on Fox News with anchor Bill Hemmer, Democratic National Committee Communications Director Xochitl Hinojosa seemed to suggest that the party has to have a convention because they are not nominating Biden.
Hinojosa said that her party was not officially nominating Joe Biden to face President Donald Trump.
“There’s a real possibility the convention does not happen or it happens in a virtual sense. Is that correct as of today?” Hemmer asked.
“First of all, our convention has to happen, because we are not officially nominating Joe Biden in order to take Donald Trump,” Hinojosa said.
“So our convention is happening. There is business that has to happen,” she said even as Biden is the presumptive nominee.
It's likely she misspoke, because it does not seem as if Democrats are planning to nominate anyone other than Biden.
This comes as Biden is facing serious sexual assault allegations from Tara Reade.
Reade alleges that Biden sexually assaulted her in 1993 when she worked for him while he was serving in the U.S. Senate.
As her story is slowly starting to get more media attention, she's also upped the ante on Biden.
While speaking with the Daily Caller two weeks ago, Reade said she is willing to testify under oath about her allegations.
The Biden campaign has denied the assault and said it “absolutely did not happen.”
About a month ago, journalist Katie Harper released an audio clip of an interview with Tara Reade.
Reade begins by detailing how she was instructed to rush a gym bag to Biden at the time. Upon reaching then-Senator Biden with the bag, Reade claims that he greeted her by name, and proceeded to sexually assault her in a “side area.”
“We were alone, and it was the strangest thing. There was no, like, exchange really, he just had me up against the wall,” Reade claims.
“His hands were on me, and underneath my clothes,” Reade later says. “He went down my skirt, but then up inside. He penetrated me with his fingers.”
Reade alleges that Biden was kissing her and asking her if she “wanted to go somewhere else,” and that after the alleged assault was complete, he said, “C’mon man, I heard you liked me.”
She then told Harper what Biden allegedly said: "He just like pointed at me and he said, 'You’re nothing to me!' And then he just looked at me and said, 'You’re nothing. Nothing.' … I must’ve reacted because that’s when he took me by the shoulders and he said, 'You’re okay. You’re fine. You’re okay.'"
