‘Everything Is Tied Together’: Biden’s Lame Energy Secretary Blames Rising Gas Prices on COVID

Liberals in the past have been ruthlessly mocked in the past for literally blaming nearly every untoward, unfortunate, unexpected global event on “climate change.”

In fact, a member of the Biden regime, Senior Director for Environmental Justice Cecilia Martinez, has even blamed white “systemic racism” on climate change. No, that’s not a joke; the Democratic left can literally justify, in their own narrow minds, the ever-changing climate is, in part, being driven by untoward views one race of people hold against another. Mind-boggling.

But that’s not the least of the Democrats’ absurdities nor will it be the last, thanks to the clown show over at the White House.

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm actually said the reason why gasoline prices are rising has little to do with her boss’s insane anti-fossil fuel executive orders and policies and much more to do with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Must be a requirement in Michigan that to be governor, you have to suspend belief in reality and be a massive hypocrite at the same time.

Since Biden was inaugurated Jan. 20, the national average for gasoline at the pump has risen 50 cents, standing at nearly $3 per gallon as of this writing. The average price was $2.38 a gallon when Biden was anointed; it was $2.11 on Election Day, Nov. 3, 2020.

“Beyond whether or not you think your policies are to blame, are you worried that the prices could impact whether or not Americans travel, which is, of course, needed to put money back into the economy?” Tapper asked Granholm, a native Canadian.

“People need to travel, you’re right, but we need to get the virus under control first, we need to get to that 70 percent, we need to get to herd immunity,” Granholm replied.

“Why have gas prices gone up? Could that be because of the virus itself as well? Everything is tied together,” she continued.

“So I just want to say, this administration is totally focused on getting this virus under control, which means the economy will get under control, and then investing in the nation so that we can go big on America.”

That’s not just dumb, that is simply implausible — unless by “COVID” she means that production has been cut because there are so many oil and gas industry workers sick at home or hospitalized because of the disease.

And she can’t mean that, because that’s simply not true.

No, she wants us to believe that muh COVID is responsible for higher gas prices — not canceling the Keystone XL pipeline, shutting down oil exploration on federal lands, and targeting fossil fuel production for new regulations.

Fortunately, there are voices of reason out there.

“Since last November 3, the average price per gallon of regular gasoline in the U.S. has skyrocketed by 75 cents. The markets clearly see the Biden/Harris administration as one that will work to inhibit U.S. oil production, which will also have the effect of tightening the global market, and traders have responded by driving up the price of crude oil,” David Blackmon recently explained in Forbes.

“President Biden’s Day 1 executive orders to cancel the cross-border permit for the Keystone XL pipeline and suspend the program for oil and gas leasing on federal lands and waters were just initial shots across the bow,” Blackmon continued.

“His order to raise the estimate for the ‘social cost of carbon by over 700% will inevitably result in regulatory actions that will raise the cost of producing oil in the U.S., as will the coming effort by the Biden EPA to convince the courts to allow it to regulate carbon as a ‘criteria pollutant,” he added.

“All of these actions and more to come will increase the costs of not just oil and gasoline, but all forms of non-renewable energy for consumers, will make the country increasingly reliant on foreign oil imports and thus will render the country less energy secure than before.”

Shame on Granholm for such a demonstrably provable lie.
