The former acting director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said border policies under a President Joe Biden would be a disaster for the country because he will reverse President Donald Trump’s initiatives including the construction of the border wall.
“It’s terrible what’s about to happen to this border,” Thomas Homan told “Fox & Friends” Tuesday, adding that under Biden, Trump’s “unprecedented success” in curbing illegal immigration “all goes away.”
“President Trump has had unprecedented success on this border,” Homan said, adding that “illegal immigration is down between 60 and 80 percent,” which he noted is “unprecedented by any president I’ve worked for, starting with Ronald Reagan.”
He said President Trump achieved that success “despite the fact that Congress fought him every step of the way” (and it did).
“No one has had this success and it all goes away under a Biden administration,” he said.
“We lose the border under a Biden administration because he made promises to stop deportations, end ICE detention, get free health care. Who wouldn’t want to come to the greatest country on Earth if you know you can’t be arrested, you won’t be detained, you won’t be deported and we’ll give you free health care?”
He’s not kidding. In August, speaking during the virtual NABJ-NAHJ Virtual Convention, Biden pledged, “There will not be another foot of wall constructed in my administration.”
Biden vowed to ‘secure’ the border using ‘technology’ – like that was working before (it wasn’t).
“I’m going to make sure that we have border protection, but it’s going to be based on making sure that we use high-tech capacity to deal with it,” the former vice president added.
Sure. What Biden will do is turn a blind eye to the issue of border security 1) to mollify his extreme left-wing base; and 2) to mollify cheap-labor RINO and Democrat-heavy corporate America.
As for the former VP’s plans, Homan says he has a couple of issues with them and Biden himself.
“First of all, he [Biden] voted for the Secure Fence Act in 2006 as a senator,” Homan said. “That would have spent up to $50 billion building border barriers so obviously he knows they work.”
“And before he makes the decision to stop building the wall you would think he’d take the time to look at the data,” he continued. “The data is clear. Every place they put a border barrier and border wall, it has resulted in decreased illegal immigration and decreased drug flow.”
And regardless of how Biden “believed in border security once before, he is owned by the progressive left” and is going “to do what they push him to do.”
He then noted that Biden’s running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris of California, compared Homan’s former agency to the Ku Klux Klan, which is rich considering Democrats in the defeated South created the group and embraced it well into the 20th century.
“I don’t see them coming back to make common sense of securing this border,” Homan said of Biden and Harris.
Yeah, we don’t, either. Here’s hoping President Trump’s legal efforts to challenge obviously fraudulent balloting is successful.
