France Officially Sanctions Anti-Malaria Drug That Is Drastically Helping Coronavirus Patience

Not long after President Donald Trump spoke optimistically about a potential drug to successfully treat those with coronavirus, France has just made a huge discovery that bodes well for the president.
The French government has officially sanctioned chloroquine, a drug often used to fight malaria, for certain patients infected with coronavirus.
“The French government has officially sanctioned prescriptions of chloroquine to treat certain coronavirus patients,” France 24 English reported.
“This ensures continued treatment of patients who have been treated for several years for a chronic condition with this drug, but also allows a temporary authorization to allow certain patients with coronavirus to benefit from this therapeutic route,” said France’s director general of health Jérôme Salomon.
The move comes after infectious diseases specialist Didier Raoult announced new clinical results, which can be accessed here, that show 78 out of 80 patients treated with chloroquine recovered within five days, reported Trustnodes.
The five-day recovery time is “considerably” faster “than the usual 14 days and for some it can go up to 28 days if they recover at all,” the outlet highlighted.
France’s Minister of Health Olivier Véran said Thursday: “Hydroxychloroquine and the combination of lopinavir / ritonavir may be prescribed, dispensed and administered under the responsibility of a doctor to patients affected by Covid-19, in the healthcare establishments which take charge of them, as well as for the continuation of their treatment if their condition allows it and with the authorization of the initial prescriber, at home.”
“Thanks to Philippe Douste-Blazy, former Minister of Health and member of the Board of Directors of the @IHU_Marseille, for his position,” he wrote.
Due to Trump fast-tracking Food and Drug Administration approval, New York state is testing hydroxychloroquine, chloroquine, and azithromycin.
“The Food and Drug Administration has moved with ‘uncommon speed’ to authorize New York’s distribution of the drugs through hospitals,” The Daily Wire noted Thursday, citing a Washington Post report. “While experts say such an effort would usually take up to nine months, the timeline ‘has been compressed into three days,’ the paper reports.
Dr. Deborah Birx, who serves as the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, said during a press conference on Wednesday that the media has “frightened the American people” with salacious reporting surrounding the coronavirus outbreak.
Birx’s remarks come after leftist talking heads like MSNBC’s Chris Hayes have claimed that the coronavirus could kill 1 percent of the U.S. population, which is over 3.2 million people.
“We have done some things that are horizontal across the country, but we are collecting data now in a county by county granular way. So, it’s like any epidemic, it’s not equal everywhere,” Birx said. “There are places that are very spared and places where there is more. We have a very vast country with a lot of capacity and a lot of infrastructure.”
“If you do these projections, when you got to those projections that said like in Germany and others that implied that 60% or 50% of the population would get infected, I want to be very clear, the only way that happens is that this virus remains continuously moving through populations in this cycle, in the fall cycle, and another cycle,” Birx continued. “That’s through three cycles with nothing being done.”
“We are dealing with cycle ‘A’ right now, not one that could come in the fall of 2020, and that we’re getting prepared for by the innovations that are being worked on, and not 2021 [cycle],” Birx continued. “We’re really dealing with the here and now while we are planning for the future. And I think the numbers that have been put out there are actually very frightening to people.”
“But I can tell you if you go back and look at Wuhan and Hubei and all of these provinces, when they talk about 60,000 people being infected, even if you said, alright, well there’s asymptomatics and all of that, so you get to 600,000 people out of 80 million,” Birx added. “That is nowhere close to the numbers that you see people putting out there. I think it has frightened the American people.”
CNN refused to air Birx speaking during the press conference and repeatedly cut away when she and Vice President Mike Pence spoke.
This comes as Democrats are falsely trying to claim that the Trump administration left the country vulnerable to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
The United States was ranked the best-prepared country in the world to handle a pandemic in late 2019 by the Nuclear Threat Initiative and the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security.
