Democratic Presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard shocked the country during the second round of primary debates when she hammered Senator Kamala Harris for her questionable past as a prosecutor.
Since the blistering attack, Harris has dropped significantly in the polls and is not even seen as a top contender anymore. Coincidentally, Gabbard isn’t invited to the next debate. I wonder why?
Read the blistering attack by Gabbard below.
“Now, I would like to also talk about this conversation about Eric Garner, because I, too, met with his mother.” Harris flaunted during the debate hosted by CNN. “And one of the things that we’ve got to be clear about is that this president of the United States, Donald Trump, while he has been in office, has quietly been allowing the United States Department of Justice to shut down consent decrees, to stop pattern and practice investigations.”
After some back and forth debating between some of the other candidates, CNN host Jake Tapper welcomed Gabbard into the conversation.
“I want to bring in Congresswoman Gabbard,” Tapper said. “Congresswoman Gabbard, you took issue with Senator Harris confronting Vice President Biden at the last debate. You called it a quote, false accusation that Joe Biden is a racist. What’s your response?”
Gabbard started: “I want to bring the conversation back to the broken criminal justice system that is disproportionately negatively impacting black and brown people all across this country today. Now Senator Harris says she’s proud of her record as a prosecutor and that she’ll be a prosecutor president.”
“But I’m deeply concerned about this record,” she continued. “There are too many examples to cite but she put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana.”
After breaking for an applause from the crowd, Gabbard continued: “She blocked evidence — she blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row until the courts forced her to do so. She kept people in prison beyond their sentences to use them as cheap labor for the state of California.”
Since the attack, Harris dropped to 8% in the polls and has been unable to recover. Considering this fact, it seems awfully ironic that Gabbard is not invited to the next debate even though she had stellar performances in the first two debates.
Independent journalist Michael Tracey brought light to the situation during an interview on Fox News with Tucker Carlson.
“As I mentioned in an article that I wrote this week in “RealClearPolitics,” Gabbard has gotten over the required polling threshold in two separate polls, in two separate early primary states,” he started. “”The Boston Globe” is a newspaper with the widest circulation in New Hampshire, and “The Post” and “Courier” is the newspaper with the widest circulation in South Carolina. Gabbard has gotten placed at two percent or more in polls published by those two newspapers, but the DNC in its bizarre, mysterious infinite wisdom, has decreed, again, arbitrarily, that those polls are not approved.”
