As Democrats became more certain on Wednesday they were going to ‘win’ both U.S. Senate run-off elections in Georgia, their tongues got a lot looser in terms of what they really plan to do once they control all levers of power in D.C.
For months in advance of the 2020 election, Joe Biden hid in his basement in Delaware and the disgustingly dishonest establishment media never got around to asking him really important questions about the kind of policies he planned on pursuing.
At one point, he was pressed on whether he planned on “packing” the Supreme Court (with left-wing judicial activists) and they let Biden get away with saying something to the effect, ‘You’ll find out when I’m elected.’
Ditto for his surrogates.
Well, now we’re finding out.
In an interview with the fools on MSNBC Wednesday following news that Raphael Warnock had defeated incumbent GOP Sen. Kelly Loeffler and her colleague, Sen. David Perdue, was trailing Jon Ossoff, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) must have felt empowered to provide Americans with a glimpse of the tyranny her party plans to unleash in the very near future.
On Wednesday’s “MSNBC Live,” Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) stated that Democrats will “study and look at” eliminating the filibuster if they take the majority in the Senate and stated that “we do need to reform the Senate so it is more efficient and effective.”
Host Hallie Jackson asked, “You had a lot of progressives talking about ending the filibuster, possibly expanding the court. Do you believe that that is something your party should be spending political capital on, focusing on, if, in fact, the Senate majority becomes yours?”
“I think the first thing we’re going to do is COVID relief and economic relief. We will look at all issues, of course,” Gillibrand responded.
“Because when you’re in the majority, that’s what your responsibility is. And we do need to reform the Senate so it is more efficient and effective. We need to get things done,” she added — without describing what “things” that might be.
“And that means starting from a place of bipartisanship, starting from a place of bringing people together. And as Joe Biden has said, he wants to heal this country and heal the soul of America, which I believe he will do,” she continued.
Let’s be honest: Democrats do not want “bipartisanship,” they want power. If they did, they would have been displaying it all along with the Senate under Republican control, instead of fighting Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) every step of the way.
Then came the money question.
Jackson asked, “You said something there about looking at potential reforms. Does that include, in your book, maybe ending the filibuster?”
Gillibrand responded: “It’s something we’re going to study and look at. It’s something that we have a responsibility to do.
“I don’t know the outcome of that review, but it’s something we will look at. We want to make sure that we can get things done and really deliver for the American people. It’s one of the most important things that we need to do over the next year,” she said.
