According to Channel 9News in Colorado, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock hopped on a plane to attend his family’s Thanksgiving after telling citizens that they should stay home in order to be safe from he Coronavirus.
9News confirms that his spokeswoman confirmed Hancock’s travel plans:
“As he has shared, the Mayor is not hosting his traditional large family dinner this year, but instead traveling alone to join his wife and daughter where the three of them will celebrate Thanksgiving at her residence instead of having them travel back to Denver. Upon return, he will follow all necessary health and safety guidance and quarantine.”
This is blatantly hypocritical because in a November 18th email to city staffers, Hancock wrote the following:
“As the holidays approach, we all long to be with our families with person, but with the continued rise in cases, I’m urging you to refrain from travel this Thanksgiving holiday. For my family that means cancelling our traditional gathering of our extended family.”
Hancock also said anyone who travels out of state should quarantine for 14 days, according to 9News.
Hancock also sent out this tweet about “avoiding travel” just hours before he would eventually fly on a plane:
He also called out by another Denver news station, FOX31:
Are you starting to sense a pattern here?
Democrat Mayors want you to follow the COVID rules, but they don’t want to follow the rules themselves.
Rules for thee, but not for me.
