The hits to America just keep on coming in terms of Joe Biden’s systemic dismantling of President Donald Trump’s immigration and border enforcement policies — and let’s keep in mind that we’re not even two months into the new regime yet.
MAGA supporters were outraged when, during his first hours in office, Biden began to dismantle Trump’s hard-won, carefully crafted immigration and border security measures. Biden’s executive orders put the kibosh on new border wall construction; he deep-sixed the highly successful ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy; he signed an order reigniting ‘catch-and-release’; and now we learn that Americans are actually paying to unite illegal immigrants with any family members they have in the country.
The Washington Examiner reports:
The Washington Times reported Tuesday that the head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Timothy Perry, wrote agency leadership that “we need to prepare for border surges now.” Since January, according to the Washington Post, “the number of [illegal immigrant] minors in federal custody has more than tripled to 7,000” and that Health and Human Services has instructed ICE to “purchase airplane tickets and cover other transportation costs for minors whose relatives are already living in the United States.”
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is “getting ICE to help transport migrants northward so they can be processed and released.”
Yes, the Examiner assures us, the Biden regime is booking flights for illegal immigrants and flying them to relatives — where they can ‘await’ their asylum or immigration hearing which is years away and which most won’t show up for anyway.
“This is how the refugee and ‘asylum’ scam works. Adult migrants throw themselves across the border with their children into U.S. custody and claim asylum, immediately securing themselves legal protection to be here,” the Washington Examiner’s Eddie Scarry writes. “Their case eventually goes before a judge to determine their eligibility to remain in the U.S. indefinitely, but those cases are backlogged by years.”
And again, they won’t show up for them. Of the 1 million illegal aliens who arrived in the U.S. in family groups over the last half-dozen years, just 6 percent of them have been deported.
Here’s what’s also true: Tens of millions of people in Mexico and Central America were monitoring the U.S. election carefully. Trump was a known quantity; if he won reelection, there wouldn’t be much point in trying to sneak into the U.S. for another four years, at least. But those same people knew full well if Biden won then the floodgates would be thrown open again and they’d have a better than average chance of not just getting into the U.S. but staying here.
And it looks as if they were right. But not only are American taxpayers accommodating this lawlessness with benefits and services, those perks now, apparently, also include free flights to the family destination of their choice.
Republicans, who don’t have much power in D.C. these days, are nonetheless trying to sound the alarm.
“The Biden administration’s policies limiting immigration enforcement and weakening border security, coupled with its proposal to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants, are signaling to the world that our immigration laws can be violated with little, if any, consequence,” Ranking Member James Comer and 18 Oversight Committee members wrote in a letter to Mayorkas earlier this month.
It fell on deaf ears because the fix is in: America will become inundated with illegal immigrants ahead of Biden and congressional Democrats finding a way to turn them into voters in the near future.
