James Carville Claps Back At Bernie - 'At Least I'm Not A Communist'

The feud between James Carville and Bernie Sanders continues with the former Clinton guru clapping back at the socialist for accusing him of being a political hack.

The longtime Democrat consultant earned the ire of Sanders who is now the man to beat in the race of the nomination for his recent comments roasting the Vermont senator as a sure loser in the election.

Responding to Carville's calling out of his army of devoted followers as a cult, Bernie went on CNN and denounced the man who is credited with engineering Bill Clinton's 1992 victory that shocked the world.

As an actual political hack and one who is damn proud of it, the Ragin' Cajun blasted Comrade Bernie in a telephone interview with Vanity Fair contributor Peter Hamby on Thursday.

According to Carville:

"Last night on CNN, Bernie Sanders called me a political hack,”

“That’s exactly who the f*** I am! I am a political hack! I am not an ideologue. I am not a purist.

He thinks it’s a pejorative. I kinda like it! At least I’m not a communist.”

Like President Trump who also described Sanders as a communist, it is a label that an increasingly fearful Democrat establishment may begin to use often as it seeks to derail Sanders and his revolutionary forces.

The kerfuffle between Bernie and Carville began after a pair of interviews last week where the strategist lowered the boom on the increasingly powerful socialist wing of the Democratic party.

Via Fox News, "James Carville rips elitist media, says Dems are 'losing our damn minds'":

James Carville, a former top adviser to President Clinton, laid out a scathing critique of his party, arguing that it drifted way too far to the left and was on the way to failure as a result of pushing extreme policy ideas.

"We just had an election in 2018. We did great. We talked about everything we needed to talk about and we won," he said in a Vox interview published on Friday. "And now it’s like we’re losing our damn minds. Someone’s got to step their game up here."

Carville added that he considered himself a "liberal" rather than a centrist -- but Democrats went too far even for him.

"They’ve tacked off the damn radar screen," he said when asked if the party moved too far left.

His comments came just after another interview in which he said he was "scared to death" after Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., netted a large portion of the vote in Iowa's caucuses.

According to Carville, both Sanders and Sens. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., were pushing "stupid" ideas about higher education.

"Democrats talking about free college tuition or debt forgiveness. I’m not here to debate the idea. What I can tell you is that people all over this country worked their way through school, sent their kids to school, paid off student loans. They don’t want to hear this s--t. And you saw Warren confronted by an angry voter over this. It’s just not a winning message," he said.

Carville also blasted Bernie in an interview with far-left website Vox:

We have candidates on the debate stage talking about open borders and decriminalizing illegal immigration. They’re talking about doing away with nuclear energy and fracking. You’ve got Bernie Sanders talking about letting criminals and terrorists vote from jail cells. It doesn’t matter what you think about any of that, or if there are good arguments — talking about that is not how you win a national election. It’s not how you become a majoritarian party.

For his frank and incisive comments, the fiery Carville has earned the eternal hostility from Bernie's savage social media mob, one that is so vicious that NBC's Chuck Todd recently compared them to Nazi Brownshirts.

But Carville has gravitas that was earned when his slogan "it's the economy stupid" was the key in creating a Clinton political dynasty that over decades, consumed the entire Democratic party.

Now he is fighting to preserve by helping to put down Bernie's socialist revolution.
