Former Vice President Joe Biden, the man that the media has declared the president-elect, has done a lot to embarrass himself.

But now he’s saying that President Donald Trump is embarrassing himself by not conceding to him, even as the president’s legal team challenges the results of the election in several states.

Breitbart News reported:

Joe Biden told reporters on Tuesday that it is “an embarrassment” that President Trump has not yet conceded the election.

While the media has declared Biden the “president-elect,” several battleground states, including Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Nevada are still counting and reanalyzing ballots and counting procedures.

RealClearPolitics lists Biden as receiving 259 electoral votes, 11 short of the 70 needed to capture the presidency. CNN claims Biden has 279 votes, while Fox News is more robust, awarding Biden 290 votes.

“The only thing that, uh, how can I say this tactfully, I think it will not help the president’s legacy,” the former vice president said.

He said that he has already had discussions with foreign leaders and that those leaders are “hopeful that the United States democratic institutions are viewed once again as being strong and endured.”

He then acknowledged that a lot of people voted for President Trump but he appeared to underreport just how many that was.

“The majority of the people that voted for the president— a lot voted for him, a significantly smaller number but a lot voted for him— I think they understand that we have to come together,” he said.

Biden said that he thinks the president’s supporters are “ready to unite,” which means he has likely not read much of what the president’s fans have said on Facebook and Twitter.

“I believe we can pull the country out of this bitter politics that we’ve seen the last 5-6-7 years,” Biden said.

The interesting thing about that sentence is that he appeared to acknowledge that there was divisiveness during the administration of former President Obama. Something the rest of us know but something Democrats rarely acknowledge.

Biden was among many Democrats and media personalities who have been insisting that President Trump concede, the same way they were not insisting that Al Gore concede in the 2000 presidential election as he mounted recounts.

But there was also one Republican, or at least he calls himself a Republican, who also demanded that the president concede to Biden.

“There has got to be some point when says ‘I didn’t win this election, and it’s over now,'” former Arizona Rep. Jim Kolbe said to Fox 10.

“Not to say the President doesn’t have a right to pursue legal challenges if he has them, but he needs to prove them,” the former lawmaker said. “They should not bring baseless charges.”

“It is important we have an orderly transition,” he said. “It is important for Americans to recognize the outcome of this election, and it’s important for POTUS to decide when is the right to say the election is over.”
