Following two weeks of intense pressure from the Dems and the media, some nominal Republicans are now beginning to call for President Trump to run up the white flag of surrender and get busy packing.
The official process has yet to be completed and the courts will still have to weigh in on election irregularities if not outright fraud, but the swamp is rolling out the red carpet for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
The first cracks in the wall began to appear during the Sunday morning “news” shows and those cracks will soon become a flood as senators who have opposed Trump for the last four years join the rush to coronate Biden.
It comes as no surprise that one of the first big names to call for Trump to bend the knee is Senator Lisa Murkowski who has long been a thorn in the president’s side and who has often joined with Democrats on key votes.
The Alaska RINO released a statement on Sunday telling Trump that it’s time to put the swamp in his rearview mirror.
Via Anchorage Daily News:
U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, Sunday called for the presidential transition to begin, saying President Donald Trump’s attempts to influence electoral results are “not only unprecedented but inconsistent with our democratic process.”
“Each state has worked to ensure a free and fair elections process,” Murkowski said in a statement distributed on social media. “President Trump has had the opportunity to litigate his claims, and the courts have thus far found them without merit. A pressure campaign on state legislators to influence the electoral outcome is not only unprecedented but inconsistent with our democratic process. It is time to begin the full and formal transition process.”
Trump has repeatedly tried to overturn election results in states that he lost by claiming there was widespread voter fraud. Most recently, he has turned to Republican officials in swing states in attempt to appoint Trump-supporting electors who could potentially vote to appoint him even if constituents voted for former Vice President Joe Biden.
Murkowski’s statement came Sunday as several prominent Republicans called on Trump to concede the election. Among them was former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who called the conduct of Trump’s legal team a “national embarrassment.”
Murkowski along with Susan Collins of Maine and failed GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney congratulated Biden within hours of the media calling the election two weeks ago.
She also ran afoul of Trump over the summer when she sided with the Marxist-inspired Black Lives Matter movement and former Defense Secretary James “Mad Dog” Mattis who defected to become an attack dog for the Democrats.
Trump vowed to actively campaign against Murkowski when she’s up for reelection in 2022.
“Few people know where they’ll be in two years from now, but I do, in the Great State of Alaska (which I love) campaigning against Senator Lisa Murkowski. She voted against HealthCare, Justice Kavanaugh, and much else…” the president tweeted Thursday evening. “Unrelated, I gave Alaska ANWR, major highways, and more. Get any candidate ready, good or bad, I don’t care, I’m endorsing. If you have a pulse, I’m with you!”
Look for the rat parade to grow larger by the day to force Trump out before the courts have had a chance to rule.
