Facebook may have extended its ban on former President Donald J. Trump, but efforts by the corrupt establishment to regain control over the Republican party have clearly failed.
Trump continues to bedevil the remnants of the Bush-McCain-Romney wing of the GOP that have joined with Democrats to run him out of Washington. Just for good measure they continue to dishonestly frame him for the overhyped “insurrection” at the Capitol.
But just as he has done ever since riding down the escalator at Trump Tower in 2015, Trump has proven to be resilient and much to the dismay of his enemies, indestructible as well.
The face of the post-election onslaught has been Rep. Liz Cheney, the daughter of warmongering former VP Dick Cheney and a darling of the Beltway elite. However, her increasingly bellicose rhetoric has backfired badly and is on the verge of forcing her out of her number three position in House GOP leadership.
But she isn’t going down without a fight.
Cheney took her case to the Washington Post which is the equivalent of Pravda on the Potomac in terms of pro-regime propaganda. There she tripled down with even more strident attacks on the former president and his tens of millions of supporters.
According to Cheney: “Republicans need to stand for genuinely conservative principles, and steer away from the dangerous and anti-democratic Trump cult of personality.”

In her op-ed which is ominously entitled “The GOP is at a turning point. History is watching us,” Cheney writes, “The Republican Party is at a turning point, and Republicans must decide whether we are going to choose truth and fidelity to the Constitution. In the immediate wake of the violence of Jan. 6, almost all of us knew the gravity and the cause of what had just happened — we had witnessed it firsthand.”
Cheney once again turns to the big lie of the “insurrection”, which served as the basis for Trump’s de-platforming from social media platforms. The tech giants work as censors for the Democratic party who promoted a second sham impeachment. Now the Biden regime is weaponizing the government against Trump supporters. All in spite of the fact that the key aspect underpinning it, the alleged “murder” by fire extinguisher of Officer Brian Sicknick, was a hoax.
It is also laughable that Cheney would invoke the Constitution after not uttering as much as a peep while Nancy Pelosi and her Democrat colleagues in the House have run it through the shredder.
Cheney pours it on, “History is watching. Our children are watching. We must be brave enough to defend the basic principles that underpin and protect our freedom and our democratic process. I am committed to doing that, no matter what the short-term political consequences might be.” She wrote.
She also harps about the ongoing audit of the 2020 election results in Arizona’s Maricopa County, a process that Trump insists will expose that Biden’s victory was fraudulent.
“Trump is seeking to unravel critical elements of our constitutional structure that make democracy work — confidence in the result of elections and the rule of law. No other American president has ever done this,” insists Cheney.
They are very, very worried about Arizona and now Biden has sent his politicized Justice Department in to stop the process. This is a blatant assault on transparency and free and fair elections that will only contribute to suspicions that something very shady took place.
The Wa-Po screed might be Cheney’s last gasp with voters turning against her in Wyoming. The House GOP leadership needs to quell the RINO insurrection before loose cannons like her undermine party unity before the critical 2022 midterm elections.
