Shortly after LSU defeated Clemson to win the College Football National Championship game, LSU coach Ed Orgeron gave a post-game interview where he gave President Donald Trump a shoutout. The President and First Lady were in attendance at the game.
During the interview, an emotional Orgeron thanked President Trump for his support: “I’m so proud of the state of Louisiana — we’ve had support from the governor, from the president, from everybody that follows LSU," he said.

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump made a surprise visit onto the field at the beginning of the game. The pair was met with a standing ovation along with very loud "USA, USA, USA," chants from the crowd.
Orgeron has expressed gratitude for President Trump in the past. Back in December, the LSU coach revealed that the President gave him a call, wishing him luck after he beat Oklahoma to go onto the national championship game.
“I was very honored to get a call from President Trump,” Orgeron said. “He was very pleasant to talk to. Very complimentary of our football team, our coaching staff. Complimentary of the way the state of Louisiana has rallied around us. Was complimentary of the way we played all year and wished us good luck in the game.”
Another notable moment from the LSU vs. Clemson game came when actor Vince Vaughn was spotted chatting it up with the President and First Lady. Vaughn, a vocal supporter of pro-conservative agendas, was also seen shaking President Trump's hand.
It didn't take long for unhinged liberals to lose their composure. Far-left blogger Timothy Burke was one of the first to break the news, tweeting, “I’m very sorry to have to share this video with you. All of it, every part of it.”
Many other left-wing Twitter users took to the app to announce their disappointment over the handshake between the President and Vaughn.
Vaughn has shared conservative views for much of his career, voicing support for the Second Amendment along with limited government.
Check out what he said to GQ magazine in 2015:
I support people having a gun in public full stop, not just in your home. We don’t have the right to bear arms because of burglars; we have the right to bear arms to resist the supreme power of a corrupt and abusive government. It’s not about duck hunting; it’s about the ability of the individual. It’s the same reason we have freedom of speech. It’s well known that the greatest defence against an intruder is the sound of a gun hammer being pulled back. All these gun shootings that have gone down in America since 1950, only one or maybe two have happened in non-gun-free zones. Take mass shootings. They’ve only happened in places that don’t allow guns. These people are sick in the head and are going to kill innocent people. They are looking to slaughter defenceless human beings. They do not want confrontation. In all of our schools it is illegal to have guns on campus, so again and again these guys go and shoot up these f***ing schools because they know there are no guns there. They are monsters killing six-year-olds.
