Former First Lady Michelle Obama ignited a storm after she posted a slide on Instagram warning of the consequences of overturning Roe v. Wade in the wake of the SCOTUS opinion leak. The frenzy is over her use of the term “womxn” in place of “women” in the abortion rights debate as “womxn” is intended to be inclusive of transgender and nonbinary women who identify as women.
Obama reposted the slides created by a non-profit organization called “When We Vote” whose mission is to drive voters to the polls. Her intention on the surface was to encourage voters to take part in the midterm primary elections, particularly in states that have the potential to ban abortions outright if Roe v. Wade is overturned. However, with leftist politicians increasingly using woke vocabulary in an attempt to pander to the transgender lobby (AOC’s “menstruating persons” anyone?), one wonders if Obama was simply covering her bases. The former First Lady used the traditional spelling “women” in the post caption but she made no mention of her decision to use the slide with the new-fangled spelling that no one seems to know how to pronounce:
‘State lawmakers will have the power to strip womxn of the right to make decisions about their bodies and their healthcare,’ one of the slides Obama shared read.
And the caption read:
‘It’s been a tough couple of weeks since we saw the leaked SCOTUS draft opinion on abortion. If it comes to pass, we may soon live in a country where millions of women — not to mention our children and grandchildren — lose the right to make decisions about their bodies and their health.’

Blacklash has come from all sides. Several have questioned whether the use of “womxn” is misogynist instead of inclusive as it destroys traditional womanhood. Others think more near-term and how the push for so-called inclusive language is translating to a Red Wave come November.
Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado tweeted, So now the term woman is too old school for Michelle Obama and she’s decided to start using “womxn”. Yes, really. They’re erasing women right before our eyes!
Ragin’ Cajun Democrat political operative James Carville expressed concern that lefties’ worship of woke vocabulary and petty progressive obsessions has empowered the GOP. On the CNN show OutFront, Carville said:
‘Today they [Republicans] have no fear of Democrats, that’s why they do this. You gotta’ understand what a huge event this is in American politics … Roe v Wade is is over two-to-one in approval,’ Carville told host Erin Burnett Thursday. ‘And Alito and them said we don’t care. We’re not fair, and we don’t care and all the Democrats are going to do is sit around talking about veganism and pronouns.’

Still, others see “the sky is falling” across the political spectrum. “The View” co-host and resident harridan Joy Behar said that gay marriage is next on the chopping block, while Joy(less) Reid, host of MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” looked into her crystal ball and foresees other SCOTUS rulings:
“That could apply to almost anything,” she said. “Contraception, same-sex marriage, interracial marriage, civil rights, integration, women’s rights to vote.”
Perhaps low-rated talk show hosts could be added to the list.
