Obama-Era Official Tells Senate That ALL American Institutions Are Basically Racist

Just when we thought Democrats could not stoop any lower, one liberal finds a way to outdo the previous one.

Vanita Gupta, who previously served as the head of the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division under President Barack Obama, declared this week that she believes all American institutions suffer from structural racism.

While testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee on police brutality and racism, Gupta claimed that racism is something she sees in all aspects of American life.

"I don't think there is an institution in this country that isn't suffering from structural racism given our history," she said when asked by Texas GOP Sen. John Cornyn about whether she thinks racism exists in everyone and everything in America.

"Wow," Cornyn said, visibly in disbelief.

"I think we all have implicit bias and racial bias," she added.

"You lost me when you wanted to take the acts of a few misguided perhaps malicious individuals and ascribe that to all Americans," Cornyn said.

Democrat Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois then cut off Cornyn.

Durbin then mentioned drug use statistics, arguing that there's an equal number of white and black drug users, but the penalties are disproportionately harsher on black people.

“There is something built into our system that doesn’t equate actual criminal conduct or criminal disposition towards the penalties that we assess,” he said.

Cornyn responded: “My only suggestion is that could be a function of poverty instead of color.”

“The attorney general needs to explain why the Justice Department has abandoned pattern and practice cases and the department has declined to open a broader investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department, investigations into police departments whose officers have been accused of brutal behavior," said Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, referring to killing of George Floyd, an African-American who died in police custody.

Her comments are eerily similar to those made by Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters this week about police and "racism" in America.

The California Democrat took to Twitter this week and declared that "police reform" is not enough, saying that we must get rid of “serial, racist, ignorant, & stupid cops.”

“Watch the video of the killing of #RayshardBrooks. A senseless & needless killing by a murderous cop!” Waters exclaimed. Police reform is NOT ENOUGH. Getting rid of serial, racist, ignorant, & stupid cops must be a top priority. Let’s call them out! Police protective unions, you’ve got to go too!” Waters tweeted.

Breitbart reports:

Brooks, 27, was killed in an officer-involved shooting incident on Friday after police responded to a call of someone sleeping in the drive thru of a Wendy’s, blocking traffic. According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the responding officers tried to take Brooks into custody after he failed a field sobriety test. However, he resisted arrest, managed to gain control of an officer’s Taser, and attempted to flee the scene.

“Officers pursued Brooks on foot and during the chase, Brooks turned and pointed the Taser at the officer. The officer fired his weapon, striking Brooks,” GBI reported.

Surveillance footage of the incident corroborates the report. His death, however, has been ruled a homicide and triggered chaos in Atlanta Saturday, as protesters took to the streets, blocking major roadways and setting the Wendy’s, where the incident occurred, ablaze.

A week before that, Waters appeared on MSNBC and gave a lengthy defense of the criminals destroying American cities and actually said it's wrong to even refer to them as "looters."

“Young people, they have a whole new definition for ‘looting,’” the 81-year-old congresswoman said said. “They say ‘looting’ is predatory lending in, you know, minority neighborhoods, where they’re paying 300 and 400 percent on loans by these payday lenders. … You know, on and on and on. They have a different definition for it.”

So, according to Waters, the people who are destroying small businesses and assaulting innocent Americans aren’t evidence of “looting.”

It's almost impossible to understand the logic of a liberal.
