POLL: American Voters Support the Use of Military and National Guard During Riots

According to a new poll conducted by Morning Consult, most Americans support the use of the National Guard and military to fight off rioters who are destroying and looting across the country.
The revelations seem to support President Trump's recent use of the "silent majority" of people who actually support what he is doing.
Check out what Breitbart reported:
71 percent of polled American voters said they support the use of the National Guard to supplement city police forces in addressing “protests and demonstrations” (the poll did not use the word “riots”) in American cities.
Of these, 42 percent of voters said they “strongly support” use of the National Guard and 29 percent said they “somewhat support” it.
Only 11 percent “strongly oppose” the measure and 9 percent “somewhat oppose” it.
Republicans are more likely than Democrats to support the use of the National Guard, but a large majority of Democrats (63 percent) either “strongly” or “somewhat” support it as well.
African-American voters are evenly split on the use of the National Guard.
43 percent of polled African-American voters either “strongly oppose” or “somewhat oppose” use of the National Guard, while 42 percent either “strongly support” or “somewhat support” the measure.
Hispanic voters support the use of the National Guard.
54 percent of polled Hispanic voters either “strongly” or “somewhat” support the use of the National Guard, compared to 25 percent who “strongly” or “somewhat” oppose.
A smaller majority of American voters (58 percent) support the use of the U.S. Military to supplement city police forces. 33 percent said they strongly support the measure and 25 percent somewhat support it, compared to 19 percent who strongly oppose and 11 percent who somewhat oppose.
During a speech on Monday at the Rose Garden, President Trump announced that he would be taking all actions necessary to restore the law and order in America after riots broke out across major US cities.
“I am taking immediate presidential action to stop the violence and restore security and safety in America,” President Trump said. “I am mobilizing all federal resources civilian and military to stop the rioting and your Second Amendment rights.”
“First we are ending the riots and lawlessness that has spread throughout our country. We will end it now,” the President continued. “Today I have strongly recommended to every governor to deploy the National Guard in sufficient numbers that we dominate the streets. Mayors and governors must establish an overwhelming law enforcement presence until the violence has been quelled. If a city or state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will quickly deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them.”
The president said that the riots in Washington, D.C., was a “total disgrace,” and revealed he was deploying “thousands and thousands of heavily armed soldiers, military personnel and law enforcement officers to stop the rioting, looting, vandalism, assaults, and the wanton destruction of property.”
“We are putting everybody on warning: Our seven o’clock curfew will be strictly enforced. Those who threaten innocent life and property will be arrested, detained, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” the President continued. “I want the organizers of this terror to be on notice that you will face severe criminal penalties and lengthy sentences in jail. This includes Antifa and others who are leading instigators of this violence.”
“We have one beautiful law. And once that is restored and fully restored, we will help you, we will help your business, and we will help your family,” he continued. “America is founded upon the rule of law. It is the foundation of our prosperity, our freedom, and our very way of life. But where there is no law, there is no opportunity. Where there is no justice, there is no liberty. Where there is no safety, there is no future.”
“We must never give in to anger or hatred. If malice or violence reigns, then none of us is free,” the President concluded. “I take these actions today with firm resolve and with a true and passionate love for our country. By far, our greatest days lie ahead.”
