Rep. Matt Gaetz Sounds The Alarm! Says Some in GOP Are Working Against Trump

There has been a secret, clandestine group of Republicans who have been working against President Donald Trump for the entire time he has been president.

That is the word from Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz who says that those Republicans could join in the impeachment efforts, BizPac Review reported.

“There has secretly been an anti-Trump caucus in the Republican Party in Washington for a while. And I’m concerned that folks like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger and others might view this as an opportunity,” he said to Fox News host Jesse Waters.

In the past, both President Trump and Rep. Gaetz have criticized neocon Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney for championing endless war.

In the aftermath of the chaos at the Capitol, grandstanding Illinois Congressman Kinzinger has publicly supported the invoking of the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump from office.

On Watters’ World, the host described the incumbent POTUS as a crusader for the working class and expressed the belief that the end game for Democrats in impeaching a president on the verge of leaving office is to prevent him from running in 2024 as the standard-bearer of the MAGA movement.

GOP stalwart Gaetz — one of Trump’s most loyal and vocal supporters — offered an alternative theory: Impeachment is the only issue that can unify the radical Democrats and their semi-radical counterparts

“The reason Democrats are talking about impeachment is that their hatred of President Trump is really the only thing that unifies this current constituency of Democrats. The Ilhan Omar-Alexandria-Ocasio-Cortez Democrats have very little in common with the Nancy Pelosi-Joe Biden Democrats other than a dislike of President Trump. So they are trying to keep together what is likely otherwise an ungovernable coalition on these absurd grounds,” Rep. Gaetz said.

“But the tragedy is it will harm the country. But they don’t care if something hurts the country if it helps them consolidate and take power, and that is totally the mood of the Democrats as we have this discussion,” he said.

He said that what he and his colleagues did was enshrined in the Constitution “and for that, we got called a bunch of seditious traitors by the mainstream media and our Democrat colleagues.”

“It seems like Democrats only seek unity on their terms,” he said.

As it stands, several Republicans have joined Democrats in their call for the impeachment of President Trump.

Rep. Adam Kinzinger is one House member who called for the removal of the president but not by means of impeachment.

“Here’s the truth. The president caused this. The president is unfit and the president is unwell. And the president now must relinquish control of the executive branch voluntarily or involuntarily,” he said in a video.

“All indications are that the president has become unmoored, not just from his duty, nor even his oath, but from reality itself,” the representative said. “It’s for this reason that I call for the vice president and members of the Cabinet to ensure the next few weeks are safe for the American people  and that we have a sane captain the ship.”

“Until the president is able to himself. It’s time to invoke the 25th Amendment and to end this nightmare,” he said.

On MSNBC later in the day, he said “I think it’s obvious that there are people that their own political survival demands that they create a different narrative to what happened yesterday, and creating a different narrative is going to lead to something like this happening again, or maybe worse.”

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski is another who said that she wants the president gone, and even threatened to leave the Republican Party if it does not happen.

“I want him to resign. I want him out. He has caused enough damage,” she said in the interview with the publication.

“I think he should leave. He said he’s not going to show up. He’s not going to appear at the inauguration. He hasn’t been focused on what is going on with COVID. He’s either been golfing or he’s been inside the Oval Office fuming and throwing every single person who has been loyal and faithful to him under the bus, starting with the vice president,” the senator said.

“He doesn’t want to stay there. He only wants to stay there for the title. He only wants to stay there for his ego. He needs to get out. He needs to do the good thing, but I don’t think he’s capable of doing a good thing,” she said.

“If the Republican Party has become nothing more than the party of Trump, I sincerely question whether this is the party for me,” she said.
