Republicans Boycott House Intelligence Hearing To Protest Adam Schiff

House Republicans protested chairman Adam Schiff for his “inadequate oversight” in the Intelligence Community by boycotting a hearing on Wednesday. Republicans in the committee claim Adam Schiff has refused to schedule any hearings on issues in the FISA report that they described as “critical.”
As of today, there have been no hearings or briefings on Inspector General Anthony Horowitz’s IG report, where several inaccuracies were reported in the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation against Trump in December.
From a letter obtained by the Washington Examiner, the Republicans said:
“Under your chairmanship, the House Intelligence Committee has strayed far from its mandate of overseeing the Intelligence Community. In fact, we have gone months at a time in which we’ve hardly held any oversight-related briefings or hearings at all.”
“We hope this Committee can move past political investigations and publicity stunts and get back to the important work we have traditionally undertaken on a bipartisan basis.”
Representatives Devin Nunes of California, John Ratcliffe of Texas, Elise Stefanik of New York, Chris Stewart of Utah, Michael Conaway of Texas, Michael Turner of Ohio, Brad Wenstrup of Ohio, Rick Crawford of Arkansas, and Will Hurd of Texas signed the letter and refused to show up at the Strategic Technology and Advanced Research subcommittee hearing.
“Until the Committee prioritizes oversight activities related to urgent and critical concerns, Republican Members cannot support distractions from our core responsibilities,” they said.
“It is concerning that you prioritize publicity events rather than the more productive work that occurs in the Committee’s classified spaces.”
