Ridiculousness of The Squad Again! Rashida Tlaib Made $100K While Sponsoring This Ridiculous Bill

Seeing how the democrats have been coming up with scandalous bills that seem to benefit no one, popular conjecture is that the liberal gang is only trying to enrich their pockets, and it has been proven several times.

The latest scam with these liberal Democrats features squad member Rep. Rashida Tlaib. During the pandemic, Rashida made a whopping sum of $100,000 in rental income while also cosponsoring a bill to implement a nationwide cancellation of rents and home mortgage payments.

This bill was dubbed the Rent and Mortgage Cancellation Act, proposing a total cancellation of rent and home mortgage payments during the coronavirus pandemic. Rashaida’s 2021 annual financial disclosures revealed that her property in Detroit accumulated between $15,000 and $50,000 in rental income, the same amount from the same property in 2020. Last year, her residential property was valued at $100,000 to $250,000.

Michigan Rising Action argued last year that this representative’s receipt of rental income is an “insult to every landlord who is unable to collect rent from tenants to make ends meet,”

Her representative also tried to defend her, saying she had a right to earn rental income on her property just like any other person. The spokeswoman Adrienne Salazar said, “There is no contradiction between advocating for an eviction moratorium and rental relief and having a great relationship with a long-term tenant in a single rental home.”

She also added that Tlaib is an “unwavering advocate for tenants, has worked to get rental assistance out to landlords to keep people housed, and remains focused on advocating for residents during this pandemic.”

Another one of the Democrat bill sponsors, Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), also racked up somewhere between $5,000 to $15,000 in rental income from a property in Boston during 2020. When the bill was first introduced, Pressley said that housing is a critical determinant of public health and that no person or family should be forced to choose between putting food on the table and keeping a roof over their head during the global crisis.

However, some of these landlords who needed rent to put food on their tables were deprived of their rights on their property, while only the people who proposed this bill were making thousands of dollars.

This is not the first time that the democrats will propose an unreasonable bill, making it look like they are fighting for the benefits of the people; meanwhile, they are only fighting for their interests and nothing else.

As the majority in the House were republicans at the time, the bill never passed the senate floor. However, the relentless democrats reintroduced the bill in March 2021. Though she is indeed allowed to make rental income as a landlord, isn’t it hypocritical and fraudulent of her to propose a bill to cancel rent for months when generating a yearly property income of about $50,000 herself?
