During a speech on Thursday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis clapped back at President Joe Biden after he threatened a travel ban against Floridians.
Despite having some of the lowest Covid infection rates and lowest Covid hospitalization rates in the country, Biden wants to take action against DeSantis for allowing his citizens to live their normal lives.
“The recent report that the Biden administration is considering restricting the travel of Floridians is completely absurd, especially when Biden allows illegal aliens to pour across our southern border. We won’t allow Floridians to be unfairly targeted for political purposes,” DeSantis said at the presser.
“Any attempt to restrict or lock down Florida by the federal government would be an attack on our state, done purely for political purposes,” DeSantis added.
“I think it would be unconstitutional, it would be unwise and it would be unjust,” he also said.

Democrats have taken aim against DeSantis for his strategy at going about the pandemic which is quite ironic considering Florida has had a much better track record when it comes to the pandemic compared to many Democratic run states.
Despite this fact, Biden is still considering taking action against Florida.
News Observer reported:
The Biden administration is considering whether to impose domestic travel restrictions, including on Florida, fearful that coronavirus mutations are threatening to reverse hard-fought progress on the pandemic.
Outbreaks of the new variants — including a highly contagious one first identified in the United Kingdom, as well as others from South Africa and Brazil that scientists worry can evade existing vaccines — have lent urgency to a review of potential travel restrictions within the United States, one federal official said.
“There are active conversations about what could help mitigate spread here, but we have to follow the data and what’s going to work. We did this with South Africa, we did this with Brazil, because we got clear guidance,” one White House official said.
“But we’re having conversations about anything that would help mitigate spread,” the official said, referring to discussions about new travel restrictions that could target the spread of the U.K. mutation in Florida.
DeSantis is clearly tired of Democrats’ pathetic fear mongering and controlling tactics when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic. On Wednesday, DeSantis back handed the media for their blatant bias coverage against him and other Republicans.
“The media is worried about that, obviously,” DeSantis said after being called out for mask-less celebrations that took place after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl.
“You don’t care as much when it’s a peaceful protest,” he added. “You don’t care as much if you’re celebrating a Biden election. You only care about if it’s people you don’t like.”

DeSantis has routinely asserted that there is a bias against conservatives and Republicans, particularly among reporters who have asked tough and sometimes uncomfortable questions about the governor’s handling of the public health crisis.
But when a journalist asked DeSantis about the spread of a more contagious variant of the virus in the context of super-spreader events following the Super Bowl, the governor took it as an unjustified hit against the home team.
“I’m a Bucs fan,” the governor proclaimed. “I’m damned proud of what they did on Sunday night.”
