This Is When You'll Receive Your Stimulus Check

On Thursday morning, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin revealed that American citizens should receive their stimulus check via direct deposit in the next three weeks.

"Mnuchin’s comments come a day after the Senate unanimously approved a $2 trillion coronavirus stimulus package that includes a $1,200 payment to single Americans who make less than $75,000 a year, $2,400 for families that make under $150,000 a year, and $500 for each child under the age of 17," the Daily Wire reports. "The bill is expected to pass the House and be signed into law by President Donald Trump in the near future."

“First of all, most of these will be direct deposit, so we call them checks in the mail, but most of them will be direct deposits, it will be within three weeks,” Mnuchin said to CNBC’s Jim Cramer. We’re determined to get money in people’s pocket immediately. So that will be within three weeks.”

Mnuchin continued by stating that he hopes Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi will quickly sign the bill so that the American people can get their checks.

“I would hope that the House passes this unanimously,” Mnuchin said. “I’ve already reached out to the speaker and to Kevin McCarthy on the sense of urgency.”

The American people are clearly happy with how President Trump and his administration have handled the coronavirus crisis.

According to the most recent Gallup poll, 49% of adults in the United States approve of the job that President Trump is doing which is a sharp increase from his 44% approval rating earlier in the month.

Gallup reports:

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- President Donald Trump may be enjoying a small rally in public support as the nation faces the COVID-19 pandemic. Forty-nine percent of U.S. adults, up from 44% earlier this month, approve of the job Trump is doing as president. Trump also had 49% job approval ratings -- the best of his presidency -- in late January and early February around the time of the Senate impeachment trial that resulted in his acquittal.

Independents' and Democrats' approval of Trump's performance has increased slightly since earlier this month, tying as the best he has registered to date among each group. The president's approval rating among Republicans was already above 90%, and remains so -- but is not currently his highest on record (94% in late January).

Trump's response to the novel coronavirus pandemic may be behind his higher overall approval rating. Americans give the president generally positive reviews for his handling of the situation, with 60% approving and 38% disapproving. Ninety-four percent of Republicans, 60% of independents and 27% of Democrats approve of his response.
