On Tuesday, President Donald Trump unloaded on former Vice President Joe Biden for his weak stance on China, stating that China will "own" the United States if Biden were to become president.
“If I don’t win the election, China will own the United States,” President Trump said. “You’re going to have to learn to speak Chinese, you want to know the truth and you’ll have to learn it fast.”
Check out what Breitbart reported:
The president spoke with radio host Hugh Hewitt on Tuesday morning.
Hewitt asked Trump to react to American intelligence reports showing communist Chinese officials want Trump to lose the election.
“Because they’ll own the United State if he wins, and with me, they were having the worst year in 67 years because I tariffed the hell out of them,” Trump said.
Biden said in an interview last week that he would remove tariffs on China, complaining that Trump was “going after China the wrong way.” He argued that China would change only if confronted by an international coalition led by the United States.
Trump has increasingly criticized China and President Xi Jinping for allowing the coronavirus to spread across the globe.
“I would say we had a great relationship. He’s a great gentleman,” he said. “But my relationship is no longer very good with him because of what they did with the China virus.”
President Trump has been doubling down on his attacks on China in recent weeks for their negligence when it came to the coronavirus.
On Monday, the President suggested that Americans need to stop politicizing the coronavirus and blame China instead.
“We must stop politicizing the virus, but instead must be united in our condemnation of how this virus came to America, how this virus came to the world,” President Trump said during a press briefing. “And we’re going to figure it out and we’re going to find out and we’re very angry about it.”
“It’s not their fault," the President said while defending Americans. "The virus came from China. It’s China’s fault."
Trump also touted Monday the nation’s progress with the pandemic, saying U.S. health officials are continuing to see “encouraging signs.” He said the rate of new cases continue to decline in Florida and Texas as well as hospitalizations. The U.S. is continuing to monitor states in the Midwest, which have seen an uptick in the rate of coronavirus tests that come back positive.
“I do want to say that at the end of a very short period of time we will be in good shape in this country,” he said.
