Trump Lays Out His Second Term Worker-Oriented Agenda With Six Big Promises

Conservative pundits nervous about (fake) polls showing President Donald Trump behind presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden by a lot have been on his case to lay out his second-term agenda.

Like his first-term agenda, these same pundits have been informally advising the president to stick to his guns, essentially, and sort of reprise his successful initial bid for the White House.

It’s not clear if the president heard any of this informal advice, but it seems plausible, given what he said during a campaign speech at a Whirlpool factory in Clyde, Ohio, on Thursday.

Sticking to his first-term plank of jobs, jobs, and more jobs, the president made six pledges to American workers he would pursue during his next term – and we know that the president’s word is as good as gold because he’s got an established record of keeping his promises.

"Today, to define our path forward, I’m making our incredible workers six more promises that I will keep over the next four years, and I’m very proud to make them at your plant and in the state of Ohio," Trump told workers.

The president laid out six promises, the first being that his administration will overcome the coronavirus.

"We have made tremendous strides,” he added. “We are attacking the virus from every angle and through this aggressive strategy, we will win the war and it will happen sooner than people think.”

“My second promise to you is this,” he said. “We will rise from the current adversity of this horrible invisible enemy and we will be more prosperous and resilient than ever before.”

He said he would invoke the Defense Production Act to harness America's industrial capacity as lower taxes and far fewer regulations would help maintain a climate for growth.

“We’re building factories now. We’re building plants. You’ll see what’s going to be happening with the job numbers very soon,” he said.

The third promise: Make America Manufacture Medications Again.

"We cannot rely on China and other nations across the globe that could one day deny us products in a time of need," he said, noting he'll turn the U.S. into the “premier medical manufacturer, pharmacy, and drugstore of the world.”

“My fourth promise to American workers: Beyond our medical supply chains, over the next four years, we will onshore millions of new manufacturing jobs, across many other critical sectors that are vital to our national security and prosperity,” he said.

And six: Trump said he'll "put American workers first, always."

"Over the last four years, we’ve made extraordinary strides, and over the next four years together, we will turn the United States into the unrivaled manufacturing superpower of the world. We’ve been through a lot together," the president added.

Oh, and he literally signed an executive order this week mandating that Americans get first dibs on federal contracts.

Meanwhile, the Marxists who will be running Joe Biden’s White House will go the opposite direction: Sell out our country by returning to the policies of globalism, in which all other nations are permitted to steal our wealth while doing nothing for us in return.
