Trump Overrules Nancy Pelosi By Appointing New Govt Position

On Monday, President Trump appointed Brian Miller to a new government position to oversee federal funding for the coronavirus, in response to recent attempts from Democrats who were trying to control the coronavirus stimulus funding. Nancy Pelosi made the questionable decision last week announcing a new House panel intended to oversee billions of dollars in federal funding from the government, which she claimed would have the power to subpoena President Trump.

Additionally, Nancy Pelosi said she planned to appoint House majority whip James Clyburn to oversee the committee, who was caught saying the coronavirus would be a  ‘tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision” last month.

Adam Schiff also took particular interest in the House panel, which he hoped would serve to investigate the government’s response to the coronavirus, along with offering oversight for the billions of dollars in funding too.

Although the creation of such a committee would take months for approval in Congress anyways, President Trump recently overruled Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s power grab with his appointment of Brian Miller to the new government position.

Check out what the Daily Caller reported below:

President Donald Trump officially nominated Brian Miller on Monday to serve as the Special Inspector General for Pandemic Recovery, a new position with the Treasury Department with oversight powers into the government’s coronavirus response.

Miller currently serves as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Associate Counsel in the Office of White House Counsel. Trump first announced his intent to nominate Miller to this new position Friday.

The Senate received the nomination Monday morning and previously confirmed him to serve as the IG for the General Services Administration, where according to the White house, “he led more than 300 auditors, special agents, attorneys, and support staff in conducting nationwide audits and investigations.”

Brian Miller worked at the Justice Department handling a wide-range of investigations for a number of years.

The White House claims that “Miller also served in high-level positions within the Department of Justice, including as Senior Counsel to the Deputy Attorney General and as Special Counsel on Healthcare Fraud.”

“He also served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, where he handled civil fraud, False Claims Act, criminal, and appellate cases,” they added.

With President Trump’s latest appointment for the coronavirus and his confirmation in the Senate, the White House has effectively ensured that billions of dollars in federal funding will not be controlled by individuals who wanted to send money to clinics who perform abortions with the coronavirus stimulus bill just a few weeks ago.
