Depending on what the courts have to say, the clock may be winding down on President Trump’s historic four years in office but he may be about to leave a ticking timebomb for his corrupt successor if Joe Biden is installed.
On Sunday, Trump wondered aloud about where the hell John Durham and AG Barr have gone and suggested that he could appoint a special prosecutor of his own to probe the Russia collusion hoax.
During an interview on Fox’s “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo, the POTUS expressed frustration that the DOJ and FBI were missing in action amidst mounting proof of election fraud and also addressed Durham’s disappearing act.
The Connecticut prosecutor who has been compared to a bulldog was supposed to have been the one who would topple the entire house of cards of what should be the greatest political scandal in U.S. history when the outgoing president Barack Obama used federal law enforcement and the nations’ vast surveillance apparatus to spy on and entrap in an incoming president.
But Durham may as well have his face on a milk carton these days and the same goes for AG Barr, a man in love with attention who has also vanished.
Via The Washington Examiner, “Trump floats appointing a ‘special prosecutor’ in addition to Durham to investigate Trump-Russia investigators”:
President Trump said he would “consider” appointing a “special prosecutor” to investigate the Trump-Russia investigators, expressing frustration with U.S. Attorney John Durham, who was picked by Attorney General William Barr last year to investigate the origins and conduct of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation.
Trump made the comments during a lengthy interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News, with the president shifting from his complaints about allegations of voter fraud — which his legal team has repeatedly lost in court — to what he saw as a lack of consequences for fired FBI Director James Comey, fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, former CIA Director John Brennan, and others.
“Where is the DOJ and the FBI in all of this, Mr. President?” Bartiromo asked of Trump’s claims of voter fraud. “You have laid out some serious charges here. Shouldn’t this be something that the FBI is investigating? Are they? Is the DOJ investigating?”
“Missing in action. Missing in action. Can’t tell you where they are. I ask, ‘Are they looking at it?’ Everyone says, ‘Yes, they’re looking at it.’ Look, where are they with Comey, McCabe, and all these other people? You know, I said I’ll stay out of it. I wish I didn’t make that statement. There’s no reason, really, why I have to,” Trump said. “But where are they with Comey, with McCabe, with Brennan, with all these people. They lied to Congress. They lied, they leaked, they spied on our campaign. I see Carter Page is bringing a lawsuit, that’s good news. Where are they with all of this stuff? And, you know, what happened to Durham? Where’s Durham?”
Trump’s appointment of his own special prosecutor would be a nightmarish situation for Biden given his involvement in the plot to set up General Michael Flynn who was just pardoned after years of hell after being targeted by Robert Mueller and his pack of partisan witch hunters.
A new special prosecutor could allow Republicans to conduct their own investigations of Biden provided that they are able to retain control of the Senate and most importantly, find the spines that they lost after Trump was cheated out of a second term.
Of course, Biden could fire any potential prosecutor but that wouldn’t go very far in terms of his calls for unity, especially when those 74 million Americans who were disenfranchised in the election already view him as illegitimate.
Just do it, President Trump.
