Former President Donald J. Trump sought to shore up Republican support against the “9/11 style” commission that Democrats are ramming through Congress. He blasted it for what he called “partisan unfairness” as another divisive spectacle looms.

The commission is the idea of Speaker Nancy Pelosi who twice failed to impeach Trump. Now her aim is to settle for televised hearings in which his supporters will be hauled before a tribunal designed to demonize the MAGA movement and cement the Democrats into permanent power.

Pelosi’s sham commission moved forward after RINO Rep. John Katko, the ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee caved on Friday. This sends the committee to a full House vote where it will likely pass, largely due to the feckless “Republicans” on the “Problem Solvers Caucus” who will join Dems.

Pelosi’s latest scheme will face opposition in the Senate with GOP Minority Leader Mitch McConnell being lukewarm to such a circus. However, it will certainly draw the support of the likes of Mitt Romney, Lisa Murkowski, Ben Sasse, and Susan Collins, and other Never Trumpers.

Trump sought to head the varmints off at the pass when he issued a statement calling for McConnell and House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy to reject the commission. After all, it won’t be investigating left-wing terrorism from Antifa as well.

According to Trump, “Republicans in the House and Senate should not approve the Democrat trap of the January 6 Commission. It is just more partisan unfairness and unless the murders, riots, and fire bombings in Portland, Minneapolis, Seattle, Chicago, and New York are also going to be studied, this discussion should be ended immediately. Republicans must get much tougher and much smarter, and stop being used by the Radical Left. Hopefully, Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy are listening!” He said.

While McConnell expressed the sentiment to reporters that the Senate GOP was “willing to listen to the arguments about whether such a commission is needed,” McCarthy has taken a stronger approach.

In a statement released on Tuesday, McCarthy said, “Given the political misdirections that have marred this process, given the now duplicative and potentially counterproductive nature of this effort, and given the Speaker’s shortsighted scope that does not examine interrelated forms of political violence in America, I cannot support this legislation.”

This resistance is ultimately going to be futile thanks to the Problem Solvers who have an ax to grind with McCarthy. After all, he ruffled a few feathers with his move to oust bad actor Liz Cheney from her spot as the No. 3 House GOP leader.

The proposed commission is not designed to be fair or “bipartisan” as it is being marketed as. Rather, it is another effort to reinforce the false narrative about the events of January 6. Election integrity protesters showing up in D.C. being able to briefly occupy the U.S. Capitol has been irresponsibly labeled an “armed insurrection” as the Democrats and media have dishonestly portrayed it.

Pelosi continues to harp about the five deaths on that day but the truth is that the dead included three Trump supporters who died of apparent natural causes. Additionally, the Capitol police officer who also died of natural causes after fake news reports that he had been bludgeoned to death with a fire extinguisher. Lastly, Ashli Babbitt a female Air Force veteran and supporter of Trump who was gunned down execution-style by a Capitol police officer who remains unidentified.

The commission will have subpoena power and it is almost certain that Pelosi’s minions will serve one on Trump if McConnell doesn’t stop it from being created in the first place.
