On Friday during a podcast on "No BS News Hour" with Charlie LeDuff, Fox News host Tucker Carlson made the shocking prediction that former Vice President and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden would not be the nominee to face President Trump in the upcoming election.
Biden is clearly going to beat Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary however Carlson believes that the Democratic party will find a way to push him out.
While talking about the “reorder of our politics” concerning the coronavirus pandemic, Carlson stated, “I am utterly convinced, and would bet money, that Joe Biden will not be the Democratic nominee on election day. I just don’t believe that. I really don’t.”
“What did you say?” questioned LeDuff who appeared to be surprised.
“I sincerely and totally believe that Joe Biden will not be the Democratic nominee on election day,” Carlson said. “I don’t believe that.”
“How does that math work?” asked a co-host.
“Well, the math doesn’t work, but it’s not about math, it’s about will,” said Carlson. “So the Democratic Party is intent on taking power, period, period, and they mean it, and they’re willing to do kind of whatever they think works. I mean that’s demonstrable.”
The Fox News host continued by saying that Biden “is not prepared” and “can’t beat” President Trump or “lead the country."
“He shouldn’t be working still,” he said. “I’m not being mean. I know him. I’ve always liked him. But that’s true. And so, those are two trains traveling toward each other at high speed. Two competing imperatives. We’ve got to win, but we’ve got a guy who can’t win. Therefore, they’re gonna replace him.”
“This is not the guy I’ve known, and you can ask anybody who knows him or has watched him,” Carlson added. “This is not him. He’s a completely different person, and he’s in decline and I feel bad about it. That’ll be me someday … I hope somebody loves me enough to not let me run for president.”
Carlson went on to "bet" on who he thinks would replace Biden to face President Trump.
“If I had to bet I would think Andrew Cuomo would be the most likely to replace Biden,” he said.
Carlson is right. Biden is in a mental decline considering he can't seem to get through one public appearance without an embarrassing gaffe or misstatement and Republicans plan on capitalizing on it.
Check out what the Daily Caller reported:
Republicans are preparing a full court press on former Vice President Joe Biden’s mental fitness for office in the event that he wins the Democratic presidential nomination, GOP sources told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
Biden’s formerly rival candidates made a handful of references to the issue over the course of the campaign: former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro made a veiled jab at Biden’s mental fitness before walking it back; New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker questioned Biden’s “ability to carry the ball across the end line without fumbling;” and Ohio Rep. Tim Ryan said Biden is “declining” and lacks “clarity” when he speaks.
But by and large, Biden’s fellow Democrats have been hesitant to press the issue beyond making passing comments.
Republicans, meanwhile, are preparing to highlight questions about Biden’s fitness if he becomes the Democratic nominee.
A Trump campaign official told the DCNF that Biden’s “capacity” will be an issue in a potential general election matchup, echoing language used by Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
