Two More Democrats Aren’t Running in 2022: The Total is Now 23

It’s not just that Democrats are looking for ways to get rid of the senile, enfeebled president, Brandon. They’re also looking for their own ways out of what’s shaping up to be a 2022 bloodbath of a red wave.

In fact, a total of 23 House Democrats have decided not to run in 2022.

Before this past weekend, 21 Democrats had announced they weren’t running. Then, two more, Lucille Roybal-Allard and Albio Sires announced that they would not be running again in 2022. As the New York Post reported:

Reps. Lucille Roybal-Allard and Albio Sires have announced they will not seek re-election in 2022, becoming the 22nd and 23rd House Democrats not to contest their seats next year.

The two, like their other, quitting compatriots, gave boilerplate reasons why they wouldn’t be running again.

On Twitter, Rep. Allard said:

“After thirty years in the House of Representatives, the time has come for me to spend more time with my family.

Serving my constituents in Congress has been the single most distinguished honor of my life. Over my many years of public service, I have always strived to do that which is best to help improve my community and my country.”

Sires, in a Tuesday statement, said:

“I consider the recent passing of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the billions of dollars we are delivering to fix New Jersey’s infrastructure, including the Gateway Project, as the capstone to a career of service.”

While those boilerplate statements could be true, it’s also likely true that the public’s highly negative view of Brandon’s policies is a reason why almost two dozen Democrat reps aren’t running for re-election. As the Conservative Treehouse noted:

The southern border is a mess, and border state Latino Democrats are switching to the Republican Party. Inflation is skyrocketing and will likely continue getting worse through 2022 due to fiscal and monetary policy. Wage growth (3%) is nowhere near enough to keep up with food inflation (15%+). Making things worse, gas prices have doubled in most areas and will continue to increase into 2022 due to Biden energy policy.

[…]Polling indicates there is a major storm on the horizon for Democrats, as their ideological thirst for power is transparent {link} and being rejected. Every single policy the Biden administration touches creates a crap storm of anxiety for the ‘Main Street’ American worker.

[…]This is the backdrop for an eleven-term Democrat Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA) to become the second Communist today to announce her retirement. There are now 23 House Communists (ie Democrats) officially jumping ship and announcing they will not attempt re-election {link}. There will likely be more before the primary races begin in 2022.

To win back the House in 2022, Republicans only need to pick up 17 seats. Given that so many Democrats have dropped out before the primaries even begin, the red wave is looking increasingly likely.
