Two More Republican Governors Refuse To Subject Their States To Biden's Lockdown

Despite nearly unanimous media support for another round of crushing lockdowns, there is resistance building to Joe Biden's preferred weapon of economic destruction.
With governors in Democrat-controlled states imposing another round of involuntary house arrests just in time for the holidays, leaders in the free states are giving good old Joe from Scranton the bird.
In Florida, Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has rejected the idea that he would just sit by and accept orders from the nexus of corruption in Washington if Biden is installed and dialed up the 4-6 week lockdown that his aides are already proposing.
According to a report from De Santis' office obtained by West Palm Beach CBS affiliate CBS 12:
"Today we are back down to 4,500 [cases] and a 7.3% positivity rate," a spokesperson for Governor DeSantis told CBS12 News. "We believe yesterday's high number was due to a large submission file and skewed the numbers for that day. The Governor will not lockdown and hurt families who can't afford to shelter in place for 6 weeks. Especially not for a virus that has a 99.8% survival rate. One area of concern is Assisted Living Facilities. Since those over 70 face the greatest threat from [COVID] the Governor is monitoring those numbers daily and is prepared to move therapeutic and prophylactic assets to those facilities as needed."
The news comes as the media ratchets up the hysteria over a rise of COVID "cases" that may or may not include normal seasonal influenza numbers.
Joining DeSantis is Governor Greg Abbott of Texas, who is also prepared to tell Biden to stuff it.
Via The Washington Examiner, "Greg Abbott rules out any coronavirus lockdowns in Texas":
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has ruled out imposing lockdowns in his state amid an increase in coronavirus cases.
Abbott said in an interview that there won’t be “any more lockdowns” in Texas, adding that he will focus on "working to heal those who have COVID."
"As some communities experience a rise in hospitalizations, the state of Texas is working closely with local officials to quickly provide the resources needed to address these spikes and keep Texans safe," spokeswoman Renae Eze said in a statement.
DeSantis and Abbott join South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem who has been a model of how the nation should have responded to COVID and has drawn ferocious attacks from the rabid left for her reluctance to impose draconian restrictions on her state.
In a statement to the Sioux Falls Argus-Leader, Gov. Noem's office rejected the Biden lockdown:
The office of Gov. Kristi Noem said in a statement to the Argus Leader Friday that the first-term governor, who's risen to stardom in the Republican party for her hands-off approach to managing the pandemic, has no intention of using state resources to enforce any federal COVID-19 orders.
"It's a good day for freedom. Joe Biden realizes that the president doesn't have the authority to institute a mask mandate," said Ian Fury, communications specialist for Noem. "For that matter, neither does Governor Noem, which is why she has provided her citizens with the full scope of the science and trusted them to make the best decisions for themselves and their loved-ones."
Mississippi's Tate Reeves has also said that he would not allow a Biden regime to wield its power to destroy the lives of his citizens.
There have yet to be mass demonstrations against the lockdowns in the U.S. as there are currently in Europe but it is only a matter of time before Americans take to the streets.
