In case you missed it, and frankly, you’re better off if you did, Joe Biden gave a post G7 press conference on Sunday.
It was an absolute disaster.
We don’t say that because we’re not fans of the current regime, though of course, we’re not. We say it because, by any reasonable measure, it’s an accurate statement. And we have video proof to back it up.
When Biden wasn’t being corralled by his wife, he was standing awkwardly with the other G7 participants who were also standing awkwardly on a podium stage in which they looked like the latest contestants for a reality TV show.

And, in the end, giving a horrific press conference.

Joe Biden and his overly ambitious wife have been in the United Kingdom the last week, pretending to be royalty and generally projecting how much the United States is now taking a backseat on the world stage. That’s led to several awkward moments, including President Biden seemingly getting confused and having to be ushered away by Jill Biden. Then there was just the general embarrassment of a bunch of out-of-touch, vaccinated world leaders, elbow bumping each other because they are afraid to shake hands.
Things are not fine, and the supposed leaders of the “free world” are projecting weakness at a level that is emboldening bad actors around the world.
Even still, none of that added up to the sheer train wreck that was Joe Biden’s G7 presser today. We are in trouble as a nation.
First up — when is this going to get problematic to anyone in the mainstream media? How many times does the sitting president of the United States get to imply that he’ll ‘get into trouble’ if he doesn’t do what his staff has instructed him to do (he is the president, after all — right?).

Not only can we not picture a President Donald Trump as “elderly” but if he were, the media would not let go of that. Ditto if Trump repeatedly suggested that he was not in charge of setting his own agenda, as Biden has now done a number of times.
But then there is this weird, bizarre exchange in which Biden leaned into the mics to chastise a reporter for seeking specific answers to a specific policy question, suggesting that he hasn’t been in office long enough to provide those specifics.
Man this is bad

“120 days…give me a break. Give me time,” Biden the Elder responded.
Huh? Why does Biden need more time to answer a question about his beloved European allies that he just said a day ago he wanted to ‘repair’ the United States’ relations with? Just answer the question, Mr. President. No time limits allowed.
Then there is this exchange. A reporter asked Biden why he wasn’t going to hold a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin, so he could take questions about, say, Russian hack attacks and other mischief around the world and answer them directly in front of his nemesis.
Biden’s response? Basically, he’s not mentally up to the task — something Trump would have never said.

“This is not a contest about who can do better in front of a press conference or try to embarrass each other,” said Biden.
No, it’s about portraying himself as a strong, in-charge, capable U.S. president on a major global stage, like Trump — like him or not — used to do.
And Biden projected none of those qualities.
We are so screwed.
