On Thursday during a press conference, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany unleashed on liberal CBS reporter Paula Reid after she continuously interrupted her.
The confrontation started after Reid claimed that President Trump has a “mixed” record on white supremacy. Reid wouldn’t let McEnany speak which is when the press secretary unleashed.
“It is quite funny that the media goes haywire about interrupting in debates and then chooses to pursue that very same tactic themselves,” McEnany fired off. “This is a White House briefing. You ask a question, and you give me time to answer.”
This wasn’t the only outbreak that stemmed from the Thursday press conference. McEnany unleashed on Fox News journalist John Roberts after he continuously asked bogus questions on whether or not President Trump condemns white supremacy.
After the event that unfolded at the White House, Roberts rushed to the Fox News cameras where he had a total meltdown on live TV.
“For all of you on Twitter who are hammering me for answering that — for asking that question, I don’t care!” he whined. “Because it’s a question that needs to be asked.”
Breitbart reports on the event that triggered Roberts so much:
In the White House press briefing moments before, Roberts asked McEnany — three times — whether the president denounced white supremacy, and appeared not to accept yes for an answer.
Roberts first asked “for a definitive and declarative statement, without ambiguity or deflection, as the person who speaks for the president, does the president denounce white supremacism [sic], and groups that espouse it, in all their forms?”
McEnany replied by noting that the president had answered that question the day before, and on the debate stage. She also read a list of quotes in which the president denounced white supremacy, including one in which the president said: “In one voice, our nation must condemn racism, bigotry, and white supremacy.”
She noted that Trump has “condemned white supremacy more than any president in modern history.”
The answer from McEnany clearly wasn’t good enough considering Robert’s shot back, saying, “Just to clear it up this morning, can you, naming it, make a declarative statement that you denounce — that the president denounces it.”
McEnany, replied: “I just did.”
Roberts responded: “You read a bunch of quotes from the past. … I’m just asking you to put this to rest.”
McEnany, reiterated: “I just did.”
She then tried to move on to the next question but Roberts continued: “Can you, right now, denounce white supremacy and the groups that espouse it.”
McEnany replied: “I just did! The president denounced white supremacy, the KKK, and hate groups in all forms. He signed a resolution to that effect. The president just last week — perhaps you all weren’t covering it — just last week expressed his desire to see the KKK prosecuted as domestic terrorists. This president advocated for the death penalty for a white supremacist, the first federal execution in 17 years. His record on this is unmistakable, and it’s shameful that the media refuses to cover it.”
Ironically just one day earlier, Roberts’ own wife confirmed that President Trump had condemned white supremacy when she herself had asked him about it outside of the White House.
“Just now: @realDonaldTrump tells me he DENOUNCES white supremacists,” she tweeted.
McEnany called Roberts out by using his own wife against him: “.@johnrobertsFox I would refer you to your wife’s reporting from 21 hours ago… accurate reporting I cited in the White House Press Briefing.”
