During an interview with Fox News on Thursday, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany unleashed on Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey for censoring conservatives, specifically the New York Post.
The Daily Caller reports: "McEnany spoke on “Fox & Friends” Thursday morning and co-host Brian Kilmeade brought up the Senate Commerce Committee, which Dorsey recently testified in front of. Dorsey told the Senate that the NY Post’s Twitter account will continue to be banned until the newspaper deletes its tweet regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop."
“Shame on Jack Dorsey,” McEnany said as she correctly mentioned how Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is not “censored” like President Donald Trump is. “As the NY Post noted today, this is a mob artist. This is a shakedown effort to say, ‘delete the Hunter Biden story.'”
“The media won’t report on it,” she continued. “Social media will censor it. ‘Delete it or we will censor the fourth largest newspaper in the United States,’ block them from social media. Big tech needs to be handled and the president in the second term will do just that. This is what happens in North Korea, not the United States.”
On Wednesday, Dorsey was hammered by Republican Senators for censoring various topics and accounts on the platform.
Republican Senator Ted Cruz went nuclear on Dorsey after Dorsey claimed that Twitter does not have the power to influence an election.
"Mr. Dorsey, does Twitter have the ability to influence elections?" Cruz asked.
"No," Dorsey replied.
Cruz had a stunned look on his face. "You don't believe Twitter has any ability to influence elections?" Cruz asked again.
"No we are one part of spectrum of communication channels that people have," Dorsey said.
"So you are testifying to this committee right now that Twitter when it silences people, censors people, when it blocks political speech, that has no impact on elections?" Cruz fired back.
"People have choice of other communication channels with..." Dorsey said before being cut off by Cruz.
"Not if they don't hear information. If you don't think you have the power to influence elections, why do you block anything?" Cruz shot back.
Cruz then unloaded on Cruz for shutting down the New York Post.
"Mr. Dorsey, who the hell elected you and put you in charge of what the media are allowed to report and what the American people are allowed to hear," Dorsey said.
