Shortly after the airstrike that left Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani dead on Thursday night, an Iranian news station caught Iran Revolutionary Guards spokesman Ramadan Sharif breaking down in tears.
WATCH the clip below:
Sharif isn't the only person who is sad about Soleimani's death considering many members of the media along with Washington Democrats seem to be pretty somber about his passing.
During an interview on CNN, retired Maj. General James "Spider" Marks had some choice words for these Democrats as he blasted anti-Trump critics for their reactions to the airstrike.
The retired general started off by shredding Democrat Senator Chris Murphy who stated that the airstrikes may spark a "massive regional war."
“What I would say to Senator Murphy is, why don’t you just be quiet?” Marks said. “Look, when has Iran ever demonstrated self-restraint? I mean, that’s the question I have. So is the world more dangerous today? Maybe it’s more dangerous. But when has it not been dangerous? When have we not been a target of a regime like exists in Tehran? I mean, it happens as a matter of routine.”
Marks continued by saying that Soleimani was "amazingly brazen" to be in the area during the time of the attack on the United States embassy.
“I’m certain what happened was… the president made the determination ‘let’s pull the trigger now,’” Marks said. “And I would say it’s not causably linked to what occurred at the U.S. Embassy a few days before other than he happened to be there checking up on what was taking place.”
Shortly after the attack, it was revealed that Soleimani was planning "imminent attacks" on Americans that would have most likely killed hundreds.
The attacks would have been conducted on American facilities and workers in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon along with other countries in the region.
“The President’s first responsibility is the safety of the American people. Qasem Soleimani was plotting imminent attacks in the region against Americans in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon that could have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people,” Hook said.
“The President has a constitutional responsibility to prevent those actions from killing Americans. He took an entirely lawful action,” he added. “I have seen all of the intelligence that supports the decision. It was very solid intelligence.”
Check out what the Daily Caller reported:
The Pentagon announced in the immediate aftermath of the airstrike that Soleimani was behind the recent attack on the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, and was “actively developing” additional plans to attack American diplomats and service members in the region.
“General Soleimani and his Quds Force were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American and coalition service members and the wounding of thousands more,” the Pentagon said. “This strike was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans.”
The airstrike also reportedly killed Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the head of the terrorist group Kata’ib Hezbollah.
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called Soleimani a martyr in a statement Friday announcing Brigadier General Esmaeil Qa’ani would be taking over as commander of the Quds Force.
Khameni said in a separate statement carried on Iranian state television that the country would double its resistance against the United States and Israel in the aftermath of the attack.
