Married to a Border patrol agent, former patrol agent herself, entrepreneur and aspiring Congresswoman Irene Armendariz, a lifelong El Paso resident born to naturalized Mexican immigrant parents, is a Texas woman who knows the reality of what goes on at the border.

Irene ran for Congress in 2020, and she is planning to do so again in 2022. She sat down with Anthony Cabassa, an influencer and El American news correspondent, and discussed the situation at the border, Kamala Harris, and the illegal migrants attempting to cross every day.

During the interview with Mr. Cabassa, Armendariz stressed that the trip to the border by Vice President Kamala Harris took almost over two months after the crisis began, and that she is part of an effort to get organize and demonstrate to the VP that not all “hispanic” migrants vote democrat. To the contrary, she believes that many of these migrants are conservative people with conservative values with goals to not depend on the government.

“We want to make sure that she understands that the Hispanic population in El Paso is not likeminded with her [Harris]” said Armendariz, “we are conservative, we are family, faith, hard-working people – and we want to make sure that she understands that we do not endorse her.”

She also noted that most “Hispanics” in Texas agree that the border situation needs to be improved, and that they recently proved that 60% of the “Hispanics” in Texas are in favor of border security.

She also explained that Kamala Harris likely went to El Paso because she believes the city is “friendly territory” given that the Democratic party has had a stronghold in the city for a long time. However, Armendariz says that conservatives are chipping away at the Democratic presence in El Paso for over two years, and that the numbers reflect that. She also noted that the citizens who live there are clear on what the border policies should be to address the immigration crisis.
