Former Florida GOP Rep. Alan West, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, dropped a bombshell and said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi committed “treason” and should be removed from her position for what she did.
West published a piece on his website detailing how Pelosi provided “advice” to illegal aliens last week on how to avoid being captured and deported by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
“An ICE deportation warrant is not the same as a search warrant,” Pelosi said at a press conference.
“If that is the only document ICE brings to a home raid, agents do not have the legal right to enter a home. If ICE agents don’t have a warrant signed by a judge, a person may refuse to open the door and let them in,” Pelosi continued.
Then, during a closed-door meeting with top Democrats, Pelosi detailed how liberals can share the “know your rights” campaign to help illegal immigrants.
West notes that Pelosi is advising illegal aliens, who have been ordered by federal immigration courts to be removed from the country, on how to continue breaking the law by avoiding detention.
West said Pelosi’s actions were treasonous and said she should be “removed” from her position.

She has committed treason against the United States and should be removed from her position as she has truly dishonored the office of the Speaker.

West is referencing the “High crimes and misdemeanors” provision of the U.S. Constitution, which is a classification of offense under Article II, Sect. 4.
According to Jon Roland of the Constitution Society, high crimes refer “to those punishable offenses that only apply to high persons, that is, to public officials, those who, because of their official status, are under special obligations that ordinary persons are not under, and which could not be meaningfully applied or justly punished if committed by ordinary persons.”
Jeffrey A. Engel, director of the Southern Methodist University Center for Presidential History, explains it another way: “A high crime is an affront to the state, to the people, the body politic.”
It’s unlikely Pelosi will face any consequences for her actions, but West calling for her to be removed from her position is a big deal.
