The Biden regime has delivered another blow against freedom with a ban on Fourth Of July fireworks at Mount Rushmore, the iconic monument that is hated with a purple passion by the anti-American left.
In a letter from the National Park Service, the request for the fireworks display was rejected, citing “health and safety risks” due to the coronavirus.
The letter, which has sent to the state’s director of tourism by Parks Service Regional Director Herbert Frost, also stated the following:
“Potential risks to the park itself and to the health and safety of employees and visitors associated with the fireworks demonstration continue to be a concern and are still being evaluated as a result of the 2020 event.”
Last year’s holiday celebration which was decried by the media featured a rousing speech in which then-President Donald J. Trump defended the nation’s values from the cancel culture zealots who are determined to erase America’s history and replace it with a version to their liking.

“The National Park Service (NPS) has denied a request from the state of South Dakota to hold a fireworks display at Mount Rushmore to celebrate the Fourth of July this year.
NPS Regional Director Herbert Frost wrote in a letter to the head of the state’s tourism department that NPS is “unable to grant a request to have fireworks at the Memorial.”
“Potential risks to the park itself and to the health and safety of employees and visitors associated with the fireworks demonstration continue to be a concern and are still being evaluated as a result of the 2020 event,” Frost wrote. “In addition, the park’s many tribal partners expressly oppose fireworks at the Memorial.”
“These factors, compiled with the COVID-19 pandemic, do not allow a safe and responsible fireworks display to be held at this site,” he added.
Frost noted that although progress is being made in fighting the pandemic, the situation is still “dynamic” and said it is “only prudent to make plans based on the best available science and public health guidance available today.”
The refusal to allow the fireworks on federal land is also a petty jab at South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, a Republican who never caved to the pressure to lock down her state.

The monument which is located in the Black Hills features the faces of four of America’s greatest presidents, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt, all of whose statues have been torn down by leftist mobs and stripped from schools and public buildings.
The news comes after Biden’s White House speech in which the nation’s 46th president told Americans that if they listen to Dr. Fauci and are obedient, that they may be rewarded by being allowed to gather in small groups to celebrate Independence Day.

While Biden may be able to wield dictatorial control over the national parks and other federal lands, he can’t prevent Americans from celebrating the day commemorating the rejection of the tyranny of his historical counterparts.
Prediction: it will be a boom year for fireworks sales in South Dakota despite Biden’s pathetic efforts to keep the people down.
