Bloomberg Hammers Young People for Supporting Socialism
- 2K Views
During a recent campaign event, billionaire and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg hammered young people who support socialist presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, saying that they don't know enough about civics and history to have an understanding of what they're supporting.
“We are trying to change and dumb down the system, and if you don’t know what happened in the past, you’re going to have to relive it,” he said.

Bloomberg has been taking a break from attacking President Donald Trump in his campaign ads and instead is pivoted to attack Sanders.
In a recent campaign ad, Bloomberg highlights the radical nature of Sanders and his supporters by highlighting tweets that read "#BernieOrElse" and “Vote Bernie or bad things will happen."
Another tweet read, “Libs who are flirting with Bloomberg now should be aware that they are going on lists. Next time they pretend to care about racism or sexual harassment or really anything other than money and power, we will remember what they were doing right now and we will remind everyone.”
Check out what The Wrap reported:
Those are followed by screenshots of what appear to be harassing text messages purportedly sent by Sanders supporters to Democrats not inclined to vote for him in the primary, as well as headlines from prominent news outlets highlighting the harassment.
The ad references The Daily Dot’s “Are You Being Harassed by a Bernie Bro or a Bernie Bot?” and Bret Stephens’ New York Times column, “Bernie’s Angry Bros,” tapping into the stereotype of Sanders’ most ardent supporters leftover from 2016. Finally, it shows Sanders himself hailing the importance of “civil discourse,” but ends with one word on screen: “Really?”
Bloomberg has been condemned for what critics call attempts to “buy” the presidency, as well as his past defense of policies like “stop and frisk,” and practice that allows police officers to search people at random and is largely considered racist. In recently unearthed audio from a 2013 interview, Bloomberg defended the policy, saying “I think we disproportionately stop whites too much and minorities too little. It’s exactly the reverse of what they’re saying. I don’t know where they went to school but they certainly didn’t take a math course or a logic course.”

On Saturday night during a campaign event in Las Vegas, Nevada, socialist Senator and 2020 Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders took a shot at Mike Bloomberg, stating that the billionaire can't beat him in the 2020 Democratic primary.
The Daily Wire reported: "Saturday night, Sanders attended the Nevada Democratic Party’s “Kick-Off to Caucus,” a gala event launching the party’s effort to get out the vote ahead of next Saturday’s all-important Nevada caucus — a contest Sanders is now, as of Saturday, expected to win narrowly over former Vice President Joe Biden, who has led the state since joining the presidential contest back in April of 2019."
Nevada will be the first state that Bloomberg is eligible on the ballot.
“We will not create the energy and excitement we need to defeat Donald Trump if that candidate pursued, advocated for, and enacted racist policies like stop-and-frisk, which caused communities of color in his city to live in fear,” Sanders said while hammering Bloomberg.
“We will not defeat Donald Trump with a candidate who in 2015 stated, and I quote, ‘I, for example, am not in favor, have never been in favor, of raising the minimum wage,'” Sanders added.
Sanders only attacks billionaires now, instead of “millionaires and billionaires” considering he himself is now a millionaire.
The socialist millionaire continued his attacks on Bloomberg by calling him "boring": “Mayor Bloomberg, with all his money, will not create the kind of excitement and energy we need to have the voter turnout we must have to defeat Donald Trump.”
