House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s hatred for President Donald Trump has led her to completely lose her mind and her ability to govern effectively, as evidenced by a thinly veiled threat to impeach him again if he dares to fulfill his constitutional duty and nominate a successor to the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
In an obvious set-up question from Democratic operative and Clinton War Room guy playing TV journalist George Stephanopoulos, she was asked directly about impeaching Trump again on Sunday.
“Some have mentioned the possibility, if they try to push through a nominee in a lame duck session, that you and the House could move to impeach President Trump or Attorney General Barr as a way of stalling and preventing the Senate from acting on this nomination,” said Stephanopoulos – never once mentioning anyone’s name.
“Well, we have our options. We have arrows in our quiver that I’m not about to discuss right now,” she responded.
Unsatisfied, Stephanopoulos pressed: But to clear, you’re not taking any arrows out of your quiver, you’re not ruling anything out?”
The California Democrat and victim of Trump Derangement Syndrome then proceeded to get even more bizarre.
“Good morning. Sunday morning. The, uh, we have a responsibility, we take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States,” she stammered. “We have a responsibility to meet the needs of the American people, uh, that, uh, is, uh, when the we weigh the equities of protecting our democracy requires us to use every arrow in our quiver.”
Translation: ‘If the president and Republicans dare to fulfill a duty to replace a Supreme Court justice instead of allowing Democrats to manage the process, then we’re going to retaliate somehow, someway.’
Only, there isn’t much Democrats or Pelosi can do about it, other than stage a coup or something.
Oh, wait…they’ve been trying that since before Trump took office.
In any event, the White House pushed back on Pelosi’s threat.
“The Speaker threatened to impeach the President—again—for simply fulfilling his constitutional obligation,” White House Deputy Press Secretary Brian Morgenstern told Fox News. “Numerous Democrats are threatening to pack the court and say things like ‘nothing is off the table.’ These are bizarre and dangerous power grabs by Democrats who will stop at nothing to erode the Constitution to enact their radical agenda.”
He added: “President Trump will fulfill his constitutional duty to protect our God-given rights and do his part to fill the seat.”
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) has also threatened Trump, politically.
“Let me be clear: if Leader [Mitch] McConnell [R-Ky.] and Senate Republicans move forward with this, then nothing is off the table for next year. Nothing is off the table,” he reportedly said.
This is typical of Democrats. If they don’t get their way, if they don’t get to lead, they get angry and make threats, which – by the way – have included dog whistling to their perpetually angry supporters in cities around the country where riots have been ongoing all summer.
Everything they do, everything they say proves why they cannot ever be allowed to be back in power. Anger, resentment, and vindictiveness is no way to govern a constitutional republic.
