Two more people have recently come forward according to the Associated Press, stating that Tara Reade had told them about former Vice President Joe Biden's alleged assault against her in 1993.
Check out what the report read:
The AP has also spoken to two additional people, who spoke on condition of anonymity to protect their families’ privacy, who said Reade had told them about aspects of her allegations against Biden years ago.
One friend, who knew Reade in 1993, said Reade told them about the alleged assault when it happened. The second friend met Reade more than a decade after the alleged incident and confirmed that Reade had a conversation with the friend in 2007 or 2008 about experiencing sexual harassment from Biden while working in his Senate office.
In March, , Reade came out an accused Biden of sexual assault, stating that he had assaulted her in 1993 while she was working under him as a staffer.
Reade explains that she was told by a supervisor to bring Biden his gym bag in the basement of a Capitol Hill office building. When she arrived, Biden allegedly pushed her against a wall and penetrated her with his fingers.
“He was whispering to me and trying to kiss me at the same time, and he was saying, ‘Do you want to go somewhere else?’” she said. “I remember wanting to say stop, but I don’t know if I said it out loud or if I just thought it. I was kind of frozen up.”
Reade continued by explaining that when she pulled away, Biden, a senator at the time, looked “shocked and surprised,” and said, “Come on, man, I heard you liked me.”
Multiple people close to Reade have come forward, stating that she had discussed with them the assault in the 1990s.
Last week, Reade's former neighbor Lynda LaCasse confirmed that Reade had told her about the incident between 1995 and 1996.
“This happened, and I know it did because I remember talking about it," said LaCasse while remembering her conversations she had with Reade.
LaCasse explained that she remembered Reade becoming emotional when she told her about the assault.
“I remember her saying, here was this person that she was working for and she idolized him,” said LaCasse. “And he kind of put her up against a wall. And he put his hand up her skirt and he put his fingers inside her. She felt like she was assaulted, and she really didn’t feel there was anything she could do.”
“She was crying,” LaCasse continued. “She was upset. And the more she talked about it, the more she started crying. I remember saying that she needed to file a police report.”
“I don’t remember all the details,” LaCasse admitted, but asserted that she, "remember the skirt. I remember the fingers. I remember she was devastated.”
LaCasse, who does happen to be a Biden supporter, is the first person to confirm Reade's sexual assault allegations against Biden.
“I personally am a Democrat, a very strong Democrat,” LaCasse said. “And I’m for Biden, regardless. But still I have to come out and say this.”
