California residents have had to suffer some of the nation’s harshest restrictions with the one-party state government using the coronavirus to exercise dictatorial powers.
Led by Governor Gavin Newsom, the Golden State has destroyed businesses, wrecked countless lives, plunged the state government into the abyss of financial disaster and there are no signs that it is ever going to end.
On Tuesday, citing rising “cases” of COVID, Newsom’s Christmas lockdown has been extended into January, much like “fifteen days to flatten the curve” has become a semi-permanent period of misery for those trapped inside of states under the control of authoritarian Democrats.
The extension will affect Southern California, in particular, the Los Angeles area which was a health crisis in waiting for years before anyone heard of COVID thanks to a huge homeless population, the ongoing influx of illegal immigrants, and the spread of diseases like typhus that would normally be found in some of the planet’s worst third world slums.

California will extend its stay-at-home order for two regions of the state — Southern California and San Joaquin Valley — where intensive-care unit capacity is strained from an onslaught of Covid-19 patients, the state’s Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly said on Tuesday.
Those two regions will continue to be subject to the restrictions until projections from the state show ICU capacity above or equal to 15%, he said. Ghaly added that projections will be calculated and updated daily moving forward. Just because the San Joaquin Valley and Southern California regions will remain under the order, it doesn’t mean they’ll be there for the full three weeks, he said.
According to a slide Ghaly presented at a press briefing, those two regions showed no available ICU capacity. Four-week projections from state health officials have determined that ICU capacity in those two regions is not improving, Ghaly said.
“We essentially are projecting that the ICU capacity is not improving in Southern California and San Joaquin Valley, and that demand will continue to exceed capacity,” Ghaly said during a press briefing.
The extended lockdown comes as things continue to spin out of control under Newsom who is facing a recall effort for his tyrannical decrees that have stomped on civil liberties but have failed to control the virus.
Even the Democrat-friendly media is starting to become exasperated with the situation in California.
California has had some of the toughest restrictions in the country to combat the coronavirus, from a complete ban on restaurant dining to travel quarantines and indoor gym closures.
It hasn’t been enough.
America’s most populous state has become one of the nation’s worst epicenters for the disease, setting new records for cases, hospitalizations and deaths almost every day. Things are so bad in Southern California that some patients are being treated in hospital tents, while doctors have begun discussing whether they need to ration care.
The turnabout has confounded leaders and health experts. They can point to any number of reasons that contributed to California’s surge over the past several weeks. But it is hard to pinpoint one single factor — and equally hard to find a silver bullet.
It couldn’t come at a worse time, given that the Christmas and New Year’s holidays have arrived, and officials fear that residents are even more likely to travel and congregate than during the Thanksgiving period that propelled the current trends.
“We are facing a very, very difficult and very dangerous time in our county, in our region and in our state. All of our numbers are going in the wrong direction, and our reality is rather grim at the moment,” Santa Clara County public health officer Sara Cody said Wednesday.
“If we have a surge on top of a surge,” she added, “we will definitely break.”
California’s moving of the goalposts accompanies a feverish media push spearheaded by Dr. Anthony Fauci to terrorize Americans in advance of the coming Biden lockdown which is imminent now that a “new” strain of highly transmissible COVID has hit the U.S. with miraculously convenient timing for totalitarian Democrats.
